Bangi-dong couples' bar for whole choco squid with 3 sauces: Wareureu

Today I'm reviewing Wareureu Mansion (와르르맨숀), a great spot for food and drinks if you're hunting for a second-round bar in Jamsil and Bangi-dong. The interior has a lovely mood and the menu is full of tasty anju (drinking food), so I recommend it for dates, group gatherings and second rounds.

What are the opening hours at Wareureu Mansion Bangi Branch?

Wareureu Mansion Bangi Branch is open Sunday to Thursday from 14:00 to 04:00 the next day, and Friday and Saturday from 14:00 to 03:00 the next day. Rain, snow or typhoon, they say they're open every day, haha.

Since it opens at 2pm, it's also perfect if you're looking for a place to drink in the daytime in Jamsil.

What's the Shin-chan themed interior and atmosphere like?

Maybe thanks to the moody, sentimental interior, lots of customers show up as soon as it's past 6pm! True to the name, you can spot Shin-chan all over the place. Shin-chan fans, you have to visit!!!

Wareureu Mansion's ₩100 draft beer happy hour: conditions and menu

You order by kiosk at Wareureu Mansion Bangi Branch, and if you come in before 7pm, happy hour gets you draft beer for just ₩100!! You can order one glass per person, and apparently orders after 7pm won't be served, so definitely check the time, haha.

The menu runs from tasty seafood like yellowtail, steamed whole squid and shrimp sashimi, to trendy anju like the currently hot beef tartare buldak wraps, plus hot jeongol (Korean hotpot).

Here's what we ordered. Draft beer for ₩100 a glass? How could we not drink it >.<

Isn't this glass of beer the true happiness of ₩100? It's cold and delicious.

What does the spicy tomato pescatore taste like?

I ordered the spicy tomato pescatore (얼큰토마토해장빼쉐) after racking my brains over what would go well with the rich steamed squid, haha. It's loaded with scallops and the broth is spicy, so even though I hadn't been drinking, it felt like an instant hangover cure... you know the feeling, right..?

It had been a while since a drinking date with my boyfriend in Bangi-dong, and at Wareureu Mansion it was a warm (and delicious) happy time. I keep thinking about that spicy broth and want to go back, haha. With everything from simple snacks to hearty dishes, it's a good pick if you want a light drink with a meal or a second round in Jamsil.

Is the steamed choco squid better than Sokcho's?

Wareureu Mansion's much-awaited steamed whole choco squid (Donghae): honestly, it's plumper and tastier than what I had in Sokcho T.T

I only tried steamed whole squid for the first time after turning 30;; and it was chewy and rich, with a taste like snow crab innards, so good!!! I went around eating it for a good while, haha. I'm so happy to find a properly good place again after so long T.T

3 sauces plus Cheongyang chili, garlic and kimchi on the side

Looking at the photo, the steamed choco squid makes me want to go back. It comes with three sauces, plus Cheongyang chili (spicy green chili), garlic and some kind of kimchi..? which is the real kicker. Eaten together, it's so good. I alternated between the three sauces and it vanished in no time...

Is squid, pescatore and draft beer enough for two people?

With the steamed choco squid and spicy tomato pescatore, our perfect evening drinking table was complete, haha. Great menu choices, yarr~ Add a cold glass of draft beer and there's nothing more to wish for.

One piece of rich, chewy, plump squid, a sip of draft beer, a bite of spicy tomato pescatore, and you fall into an endless loop ~.~ The portions are generous, so just these two dishes left us full!

Above all, as someone who grew up watching Shin-chan, haha, I loved the warm, sentimental atmosphere of Wareureu Mansion, like stepping into a scene from the anime~!! If you want a second-round spot near Bangi Station in Jamsil that's great for dates and gatherings, try Wareureu Mansion. Recommended.
