Hanam comic café as an indoor kids' outing: Nintendo chips, Real Toon

In short

Real Toon Comic Café (리얼툰만화카페) is a comic café on Misagangbyeonjungang-ro in Misa, Hanam, Gyeonggi, where comics, Nintendo games and Korean snack food share one space. The writer visited on a weekday afternoon with her child. The child played Nintendo in the Nintendo room while she read comics, and they stayed through dinner on rabokki (ramyeon tteokbokki) and sotteok sotteok (sausage and rice cake skewers), plus free fries from a Naver review event. Real Toon Comic Café is an easy indoor outing in Hanam, whatever the weather, where parent and child can each relax their own way.

I finally had a free weekday afternoon, so I took my child to Real Toon Comic Café (리얼툰만화카페) in Misa, Hanam! We read comics, played Nintendo games and ate tasty snacks, and just took our time. If you're looking for an indoor activity to do with a kid, take a look. 😊

What is the interior of Real Toon Comic Café like?

From the walls to every corner of the space, Real Toon is decorated like a scene from a comic. The interior caught my eye the moment we walked in.

Since the space feels like a scene from a comic, it's fun just to look around. The vibe is different from an ordinary comic room, and it was great for taking photos too. If you're after a comic café as a thing to do in Hanam, I think you'll like this unusual atmosphere.

How does the Nintendo room at Real Toon Comic Café work?

At the Nintendo room, you pick the game chip you want at the counter and borrow it. My child didn't even think twice and headed straight for the Nintendo room as soon as we came in. 😂

Kids really do put games before comics, huh. If it's quiet and no one else is there, it's fine, but I was told that when other guests are waiting, Nintendo time is limited to a maximum of 2 hours.

If you're coming with kids, it's worth checking the time limit in advance, right? You can sit comfortably and play, so it was a solid option for families looking for a comic room with games or an indoor activity in Hanam.

Nintendo for the kid, comics for mom

While my child played Nintendo at Real Toon, I pulled out a few comics and read them for the first time in a while.

I think the charm of a comic café is that each of you can spend the time doing what you like. When I go out with my child, everything usually revolves around the kid, so being able to enjoy things my own way made me feel like I was actually resting.

One thing: at Real Toon, you have to put the comics you've read back where they came from. Before you take a book out, make sure you note which shelf slot it was in!

Real Toon Comic Café food: rabokki and sotteok sotteok

We ordered rabokki (spicy tteokbokki with ramyeon noodles) and sotteok sotteok (skewers of sausage and rice cake) at Real Toon, because all that playing made us hungry.

You can order by QR code from your seat, so there's no need to walk to the counter, which was convenient. I also joined the Naver review event and got fries too. 😋

Between the games, the comics and the good food, time really flew. In the end we even had dinner at the comic café before leaving. If you want a comic café activity in Misa where you can sort out a meal at the same time, keep this in mind.

A weekday afternoon in Hanam with my child

A weekday outing to Real Toon with my child, something we hadn't done in ages! My child got totally absorbed in Nintendo, and I read comics and ate good food, so we each enjoyed our own time.
