Autumn terrace hanok café in Seochon, Seoul: decaf drip at Oldsse
In short
Oldsse Seochon is a hanok-style café in the alleys of Seochon in Jongno, Seoul, serving hand-drip coffee from several beans, tea and desserts. The writer visited Oldsse Seochon on a weekend with her older sister and ordered decaf hand-drip coffee and Basque cheesecake; the decaf still had a nutty aroma that left nothing to miss, and both sisters called the Basque cheesecake the best of their lives. Verdict: Oldsse Seochon is a good stop to rest in a hanok setting or on the terrace while browsing Seochon's small shops.

Seochon has such a nice vibe these days! I went there on the weekend with my older sister. We wanted to spend a relaxed day with coffee and dessert at a pretty café, and the place we picked was Oldsse Seochon :) If you love Seochon's quiet, calm atmosphere, you'll like this place haha.
What is the hanok interior at Oldsse Seochon like?
Oldsse Seochon is a café set in a hanok (traditional Korean house), and its calm yet stylish mood fits the Seochon alleys well. 🏡 The hanok charm hits you from the moment you walk in.

The moment I stepped inside, I loved the special hanok atmosphere. There are so many aesthetic cafés these days, but a space made in a hanok has its own charm, right? It's calm yet stylish, and it suits Seochon well.

Are Oldsse Seochon's terrace seats good in autumn?
Oldsse Seochon has prettily arranged outdoor seats, so a terrace coffee on a nice autumn day is a good idea. However, there were quite a lot of customers when I visited on the weekend.
It was fairly crowded, which tells me a lot of people come here. The outdoor seats are set up nicely, and on a good day, drinking coffee outside is the best.. in this autumn weather, I can't give up the terrace 🤍 It was lovely for chatting with my sister about this and that, and the space itself is pretty, so it's good for taking photos too. The hanok feel and the cute little props capture Seochon's quiet atmosphere just as it is! A truly healing place 🤍
What's on the menu at Oldsse Seochon?

The Oldsse Seochon menu has hand-drip coffee from several kinds of beans, plus coffee, tea and desserts.
How does Oldsse Seochon's decaf hand-drip coffee taste?
The decaf hand-drip coffee at Oldsse Seochon keeps a nutty, rich bean aroma, so it didn't feel like a letdown for being decaf. My sister and I ordered hand-drip coffee and Basque cheesecake, and I chose the decaf hand-drip. ☕️

We ordered hand-drip coffee and Basque cheesecake. I went with decaf hand-drip that day. Sometimes you want coffee at a café but worry about the caffeine, right? I liked that I could still enjoy coffee with decaf. The nutty, rich aroma of the beans meant it didn't feel lacking just because it was decaf, and I enjoyed it a lot!
The staff were also friendly when we ordered, which made the visit pleasant. The space and menu matter at a café, but friendly staff make it an even better memory :)
Does Oldsse Seochon's Basque cheesecake go well with coffee?
The Basque cheesecake at Oldsse Seochon is a dessert that both the writer and her sister called their best ever ("life Basque cheesecake"). The soft cheesecake paired well with the hand-drip coffee. 🍰

Coffee alone felt like not enough, so we ordered Basque cheesecake too. Seriously the best Basque cheesecake of my life. My sister and I both agree!! Coffee and dessert really are better together! The soft cheesecake went well with the coffee.
Enjoying tasty coffee and dessert in a pretty space lifted my mood even though it was a short café visit. Seochon has lots of prop shops and things to see these days, so it's perfect for a sugar recharge and a rest while browsing! ⭐️
Looking for an atmospheric hanok café in Seochon?
Oldsse Seochon is a Seochon café remembered for its hanok mood and pretty outdoor seats; the only thing to keep in mind is that it can get crowded depending on the time. The writer was happy with both the decaf hand-drip coffee and the Basque cheesecake and saved it to her revisit list. 💛

Oldsse Seochon, which I visited with my sister this time, stayed in my memory for its charming hanok mood and pretty outdoor seats. It's a popular spot, so it may be a bit crowded depending on when you go, but it was great for enjoying coffee while soaking up Seochon's atmosphere. I enjoyed the decaf hand-drip coffee, and the Basque cheesecake was the best, so it's saved as a place I'll definitely go back to.
Seochon is fun to wander alley by alley, and with so many places with a nice mood, just walking makes you feel good. If you're looking for a hanok-style café in Seochon, or a place to rest over coffee with friends or family, give Oldsse Seochon a visit 🤎
