Today I'm sharing my visit to Mini Male Coffee Roasters Yangjae Main Branch (미니말레 커피뢰스터 양재본점), a well-known Yangjae coffee spot where you can find proper specialty coffee and premium handmade desserts baked fresh every morning.
True to the brand philosophy of cutting what's unnecessary and focusing on the value and quality of coffee itself, everything from the clean space to the carefully made desserts and signature drinks made my first visit really satisfying!

Where Mini Male Yangjae Main Branch is and how to get there
Mini Male Coffee Roasters Yangjae Main Branch is a short walk from Yangjae Citizen's Forest Station, so it's easy to reach by public transport. It's close to the Yangjae AT Center, the Yangjaecheon cherry blossom path and the Yangjae Flower Market, which makes it a perfect spot for a relaxed cup after an outing, shopping or lunch.
Solo-friendly bar table seats and the café atmosphere
The Yangjae Main Branch is the signature space where Mini Male first opened its doors. The interior is on the small side, but customers who know Mini Male's coffee and bakery keep coming. There are also solo bar-table seats, so it's easy to visit alone like I did.
They also carefully prepare handmade cookies for thank-you gifts, wedding-invitation gatherings and group catering, plus a gift-wrapping service for bakery items, so I hear it's popular with nearby offices and groups too.

Specialty beans
They insist on high-quality green beans with a cupping score of 80 or above and roast them in-house at their Seocho-dong roastery. You can choose your beans to suit your taste: Balance (Ethiopian brightness), Dunkel (dark chocolate notes) or decaf. A nice plus!
Handmade desserts baked fresh every morning
Because everything is kneaded and baked by hand every day with top-grade AOP butter and carefully selected ingredients, the cookies and scones are exceptionally fresh and the butter tastes luxurious.
This day I tried Mini Male's signature drink, the Helsinki latte, together with a Victoria scone, which pairs nicely with coffee.
Helsinki latte, ₩5,200, sweetness 1.5/5: what does it taste like?
The Helsinki latte costs ₩5,200 and its sweetness is 1.5/5. It's Mini Male's best-selling signature latte, recreating with their own original recipe a "life-changing latte" they came across while traveling in Helsinki, Finland.
It wasn't overly sweet and had a subtle nuttiness, which was just right. I love the nutty flavor of coffee, so even when I occasionally have a vanilla latte I halve the syrup or powder. With the Helsinki latte there was no need to ask for a less sweet option in advance: it was exactly the sweetness where a latte tastes best.
There's none of the typical bitterness of espresso, and the rich, smooth flavor of the milk blends cleanly with the coffee. If you love lattes, you'll understand right away why it's called a "life-changing latte"!
Victoria scone, ₩4,900, sandwiched with cream and strawberry jam
The Victoria scone is ₩4,900 with a sweetness of 3/5. It's a classic dessert that keeps the flavor of a British-style fresh cream scone.
As a bread lover, scones are my favorite bread, so I've eaten a lot of them. Befitting a bakery that bakes every morning, Mini Male's scone has distinct layers, crisp outside and moist inside. It's sandwiched with nutty cream and sweet strawberry jam, and the rich cream aroma and sweetness fill the moment with a touch of class.
Its flavor isn't too intense either, so I could enjoy it to the very last bite, and paired with my Helsinki latte the balance of sweetness was excellent!
Handmade New York cookies that make good gifts
Among the bakery items, the handmade New York cookies PB&J and matcha chocolate chip levain, which also make good gifts, really nail the big, chewy New York cookie style. The PB&J, with its classic pairing of peanut butter and strawberry jam, is especially charming, so I highly recommend it!!
