Guwol-dong abalone restaurant, 19,900-won weekday dinner: Jeonbokchon
In short
Jeonbokchon is an abalone hanjeongsik (Korean course meal) restaurant in Guwol-dong, Namdong-gu, Incheon, serving abalone delivered the same day from Wando. The 39,000-won abalone course for two ran from abalone porridge and scorched-rice soup through abalone sashimi, vinegared abalone, abalone entrail salad, steamed abalone with entrail (geu-u) sauce, sweet and spicy dried pollock, bulgogi and abalone seaweed soup, and the entrail salad was the standout. With a weekday-only dinner special at 19,900 won and a lunch special at 14,900 won, Jeonbokchon suits a plain weekday meal as much as a parents' birthday or a formal family meeting.

Today I visited a place where you can stuff yourself on fresh abalone hanjeongsik made with abalone flown in same-day from Wando — Jeonbokchon (전복촌) in Guwol-dong, already super famous as an Incheon hanjeongsik spot.
So many of my friends bring their parents here for birthdays! Lately it's also become a hot spot for Incheon sangyeonrye (formal meetings between families before a wedding). It's right near Incheon City Hall, so access is great, and the food is plated so neatly that it's perfect for treating someone important.

I didn't know this, but the weekday-only dinner special is only 19,900 won?! That sounds perfect for a night when you're wiped out after work.
Where is Jeonbokchon, and is there parking?
Jeonbokchon is on the 1st floor of Haein Building, 35 Yesul-ro 204beon-gil, Namdong-gu, Incheon, South Korea, 371m from Exit 1 of Yesulhoegwan Station. It's open Tue–Fri 11:30–21:30 (last order 19:40) and Sat–Sun 11:30–21:00 (last order 19:30), with a break time from 14:40 to 17:00.

There's a generously sized free parking lot above ground, so parking isn't a worry.
If you want a private room, I'd recommend booking well ahead haha.
Inside Jeonbokchon: table seating and private rooms
Walking inside, there's a spacious open table area in the center, with private rooms lined up on both sides for more intimate meals! The rooms were already full of guests — classic sign of an Incheon hanjeongsik favorite. If you want a room for a gathering, reservations are a must!

Jeonbokchon menu and prices: how much is the weekday special?
I looked through the whole menu! Here's a rundown of Jeonbokchon's signature offerings.
- Jangsu course: ₩49,000
- Abalone course: ₩39,000 (what we ordered)
- Bon course: ₩29,000
- Dinner special (weekday only): ₩19,900
- Lunch special: ₩14,900
- Lunch special premium 1: ₩20,000
- Lunch special premium 2: ₩22,000
The lunch special price is so good too, it'd be perfect for office workers in Guwol-dong or near Incheon City Hall on a weekday lunch break.
We ordered the abalone course (39,000 won), Jeonbokchon's signature menu, for two! It's a spread of various abalone dishes and other specialties, and it came out even more varied and generous than the price led us to expect — a genuine surprise.

What comes with the 39,000-won abalone course for two
Jeonbokchon's abalone course starts with abalone porridge and a salad. First came the abalone porridge and salad to warm up an empty stomach — perfect for waking up the appetite! Then the whole table filled up fast.
Wow, I was really surprised by how many dishes kept coming haha. I kept thinking 'is this it?' but they just kept bringing more.
Abalone scorched-rice soup
Wow, this is really delicious. Loaded with wood ear mushroom, bamboo shoots, shrimp, abalone and more — the broth is amazing.
Abalone sashimi
Pure freshness — abalone sashimi from Wando! You can really tell it's fresh, direct-from-source abalone from that chewy bite and strong ocean flavor.

Vinegared abalone
Who knew abalone would pair this well with tangy yuzu dressing?! This dish made my eyes light up.

Abalone entrail salad and abalone sushi
The abalone entrail salad — this really was...!! Out of this entire massive spread, this was my absolute favorite, hands down haha.
It was my first time trying abalone entrail salad. You'd think entrails might be bitter, salty, or fishy, right? But there wasn't a trace of fishiness — just rich, savory, melt-in-your-mouth flavor!! A whole new world of taste.

Steamed abalone with entrail (geu-u) sauce and japchae
This geu-u sauce (abalone entrail sauce) is genuinely perfect. Somehow it's creamy while still pulling out all that deep, rich savoriness that entrails have..! Dipping the soft, chewy steamed abalone into this sauce was incredible, ugh.
They gave us so much sauce that there was plenty left even after finishing the abalone, so later I even dipped the sushi in it.

Sweet and spicy dried pollock (kodari gangjeong)
Jeonbokchon's dried pollock strips are also great. Crisp outside, tender inside, coated in a sweet-spicy sauce... best dried pollock strips I've ever had.

Spicy pollock salad
Wrapped up in crisp cabbage leaves, it's amazing! Later, when the rice and seaweed soup came out, I put it on top of the rice, and it was even better haha.

Bulgogi
Nice touch serving it over a solid fuel burner. It stays warm until the rice comes out.
Fried shrimp
A crunchy, satisfying way to wrap things up before the main meal! Right around the time you're finishing this, the meal course arrives.
Finishing the course: abalone seaweed soup and rice
The final dish of the abalone course is abalone seaweed soup, bubbling in a stone pot, served with a bowl of rice. Squid jeotgal (salted fermented squid), kimchi, and bean sprouts come as side dishes.
This abalone seaweed soup broth is genuinely... incredible. It's so savory and deep that spooning rice into it made me feel like it was my own birthday haha.
And finally, a refreshing tea to cleanse the palate! And with that, the abalone course came to an end.
Who is Jeonbokchon best for?
Being able to stuff yourself on such high-quality abalone dishes for 39,000 won a person, ugh — by the end I was full and felt so healthy, totally satisfied!
True to a high-end Incheon hanjeongsik restaurant, the seasoning overall wasn't heavy or overpowering, which I loved! Clean, refined, and delicious — bring your parents here and you're guaranteed 100% praise. A must-try Guwol-dong restaurant.
With well-equipped private rooms, it's also a solid choice for family gatherings, special occasions, or treating someone important — a proper Incheon hanjeongsik restaurant. I'm already planning a return visit with my family for a health boost!
Jeonbokchon in Guwol-dong really made me feel taken care of in a relaxed setting. If you're in Guwol-dong looking for great abalone food, a group gathering spot, a place for your parents' birthday, or an Incheon hanjeongsik restaurant to treat someone special, definitely pay a visit!
