I visited MIMI Coffee Mill (미미커피방앗간) in Sunseong, Dangjin, with a companion. The weather was nice, so we settled onto the outdoor terrace and had iced Americanos and several desserts.
What is the atmosphere like at MIMI Coffee Mill?
Its friendly-sounding name caught my eye first, and I liked the atmosphere when I visited. It was quiet and comfortable that day, making it a good place for the two of us to drink coffee and talk about this and that.
What was the time on the outdoor terrace like?
At first, we considered sitting inside, but chose the outdoor terrace because we wanted to enjoy the nice weather. Drinking coffee in the open space felt more relaxed than at a city café.
There were pebbles behind the terrace. My companion and I made our initials with them, and that small activity became a pleasant memory.
Did the Americano and butter bars pair well?
We ordered two iced Americanos and several desserts. Since I usually like butter bars, I tried both the classic butter bar and the lemon butter bar.
Both butter bars were dense and rich, and paired well with the bitter iced Americano. I liked taking a bite of butter bar followed by a sip of coffee.
What did the Oreo cake and ttungcaron taste like?
I was a little worried that the spoonable Oreo cake might be very sweet. After trying it, it felt more nutty and soft than intensely sweet. It was easier to eat than I expected.
I also tried the Frozen ttungcaron, a thick macaron. It was filled generously when I took a bite. It may suit those who like sweet desserts.
Was it a good stop during a Sunseong drive?
What I remember most from that day was the time we spent on the terrace. With pleasant sunshine and a light breeze, it was nice to sit back over coffee and dessert.
It was a place I might think of when looking for a quiet café stop during a drive around Sunseong. Like us, you could sit outside on a nice day and spend time talking.
