Pho lunch at Mibundang near Dongtan Station

Where is Mibundang Dongtan Station Branch, and can you park there?

Mibundang Dongtan Station Branch (미분당) is right in front of the Lotte Department Store Dongtan parking entrance, by Dongtan Station. I come to Dongtan Station often to catch the SRT, and I had no idea such a good pho place was this close, haha. Being so near the station, it looked great for a quick lunch or light meal after parking.

The building's parking lot is big and parking is free with a meal, so we came by car and could eat without worrying. I'd read on blogs that Mibundang Dongtan Station Branch usually has a long wait, so I hopped out of the car first and headed over. Luckily we came early, so there was no wait yet, but two groups were still ordering ahead of me, which made me rush a bit, haha.

Atmosphere and kiosk ordering at Mibundang Dongtan Station Branch

The whole place is finished in wood, so the exterior stood out from the other shops. Unusually, you order outside the restaurant. With the kiosk outside, it was less crowded and actually easier than an indoor one.

How long is the wait at Mibundang Dongtan Station Branch?

If you're coming, hurry. When I finished eating and came out, the wait outside was enormous! Everyone you can see in the photo below was waiting. Even so, the food comes out quickly and tables turn over fast, so the wait isn't that long.

Counter seating at Mibundang, easy for solo dining

Inside, the kitchen sits in the middle and diners sit around it at counter seats. Places like this are better for eating alone than in a group, so I thought it would be perfect on a workday.

The interior is all the same wood as the outside, so it feels unified, and being able to see the kitchen made me trust the food's hygiene.

Mibundang Dongtan Station Branch menu and takeout options

When choosing from the menu, you first pick fully cooked or half-cooked packaging for takeout. Ordering this way keeps the noodles from getting soggy on a long trip, which is great.

Mibundang is a Vietnamese pho place, so there are the usual choices like brisket and flank, but unusually I spotted a tendon pho. I rarely eat tendon, so I got curious. There are also plenty of sides like sweet potato cha gio (Vietnamese fried rolls), scallop cha gio and buffalo wings, which go well with pho.

Brisket, flank and tendon pho: good even if you dislike tendon?

Every pho place seems to have its own way of eating it best. Mibundang has detailed instructions in front of each table, so I read them carefully before eating. I'll share how it went below ^^

As the name says, Mibundang's brisket-flank-tendon pho has every ingredient in it, so it looks incredibly generous.

My husband likes tendon and I don't much, but Mibundang's tendon isn't tough, and it isn't too mushy either, so even I, who dislike a squishy texture, enjoyed it. It was so chewy that I think I ate more than my husband, haha.

Personally I love bean sprouts in pho, and Mibundang's default portion is so big you don't need extra. From watching other customers order, you can add more sprouts if you want.

Is the meat in Mibundang's brisket and flank pho tough?

I ordered the brisket-flank pho.

Mibundang's brisket-flank pho also has loads of brisket and flank, and both were so tender, with nothing tough about them, which I loved. You know how people say meat is "drowned in water"? I usually don't eat meat in broth, but here both the flank and brisket kept their juices, which was great.

I mixed hoisin sauce and hot sauce in the ratio shown on the table, and it was spicy and tasty but way too hot for me, haha. Still, it was a flavor I kept wanting, so I kept eating it mixed into the onions.

The rice noodles weren't soggy and were well cooked, and the portion was big, perfect for a filling lunch.

₩8,500 assorted starter plate, easy for two to share

Mibundang's assorted starter plate (모듬전식) lets you taste the sides one by one, and at ₩8,500 it's good for two people to share.

Everything was crispy and savory and delicious. Dipped in the sweet chili sauce that came with it, it had a fresh tang that went well with the pho.

How much is pho lunch for two? Verdict on Mibundang Dongtan Station Branch
