In short

Low Five Anguk is a wood-fired pizza and pasta restaurant on Bukchon-ro in Jongno, Seoul, near Anguk Station Exit 2. The writer paired the signature corn pizza (25,000 won) and spicy shrimp rigatoni (18,000 won) with a bottle of Urmeneta Chardonnay white wine (28,000 won), and found the corn pizza's creamy cheese oddly addictive enough to promise a return visit. Low Five Anguk is a good Anguk Station pizza spot for a glass of wine on a Bukchon Hanok Village or Insadong outing.

Low Five Anguk is a lovely restaurant in Bukchon. It had a slightly exotic vibe, and the unique pizza was delicious. We had pizza and pasta with a glass of wine, and the atmosphere was so nice that we promised each other we'd come back! Haha. It's close to Bukchon Hanok Village too, so it works for a day out or a date.

How does the Urmeneta Chardonnay white wine taste?

Bottle of Urmeneta Chardonnay white wine

The white wine we ordered at Low Five Anguk was the Urmeneta Chardonnay (₩28,000)! It's said to have peach and citrus aromas with fresh acidity. We picked it because it was the cheapest, haha. It definitely had a noticeable tang.

What goes into Low Five's signature corn pizza?

Low Five's signature corn pizza

The corn pizza (₩25,000) is said to be Low Five's signature dish. It comes with white truffle cream, bacon, chili shrimp, butter seasoning and grilled corn. Since it's the signature and I spied on the neighboring tables, where lots of people were eating it, we ordered it too. The corn definitely gave it a sweet touch.

Corn pizza taste: creamy cheese and chewy wood-fired crust

A slice of corn pizza

Low Five's corn pizza was unlike any pizza I've had elsewhere. For one thing, the cheese felt creamy. The first bite felt a bit odd, but after one slice I wanted more, and when I got home I kept thinking about it. It was strangely addictive.

I normally don't eat the pizza crust, but maybe because it's wood-fired, it was chewy yet light and tasty, and I ate every last bit of it.

How does the spicy shrimp rigatoni taste?

Spicy shrimp rigatoni pasta

The spicy shrimp rigatoni (₩18,000) is a rigatoni pasta with shrimp and bacon. It was loaded with shrimp, and the slightly spicy sauce was so good. I wanted to mix leftover sauce with rice, haha.
