Korean BBQ for three in Jongno3-ga with a black pork add-on: Cham
In short
Cham Dwaejitgan Jongno Main Branch is a Korean BBQ restaurant specialising in Boseong nokdon and Jiri Mountain black pork, on the first floor of the Piccadilly CGV by Jongno3-ga Station in Jongno, Seoul. Three adults — a blogger and a married couple they hadn't seen in a while — started with 2 servings of Boseong nokdon pork belly (16,000 won each) and 1 serving of pork collar, then added 2 servings of Jiri Mountain black pork five-layer belly at 19,000 won, while the staff grilled every cut at the table. It's Chuseok but the weather still feels like summer, I wish it would cool down soon haha. The day before yesterday I met up with dear friends, a married couple, in Jongno, Seoul, after way too long! Work life had made it hard to see each other, so getting out of our own neighborhoods and meeting up in Jongno felt so refreshing and nice!!
You can't just take precious people you haven't seen in ages just anywhere, right?? So I searched like crazy! Out of countless barbecue restaurants, I found the one that immediately caught my eye — a place with perfect atmosphere and perfect taste!
What kind of place is Cham Dwaejitgan Jongno Main Branch?
Cham Dwaejitgan Jongno Main Branch is a pork belly restaurant on the first floor of the Piccadilly CGV near Jongno3-ga Station. The pretty sign caught my eye first thing when I arrived! The good vibes started right there.

Just like it looked from outside, the interior was spacious with generous space between tables, so it was really good for conversation!!
The first thing that caught my eye! The utensils were individually wrapped, one by one, which felt so hygienic!!! (Guess I'm starting to take after my very pregnant wife haha.)

Menu and prices: what three of us ordered
Cham Dwaejitgan Jongno Main Branch's menu is built around two main lineups: Boseong nokdon and Jiri Mountain black pork! We looked over the menu wondering what to eat.

- Boseong Nokdon pork belly (참삼겹살), 1 serving ₩16,000
- Boseong Nokdon pork collar (꽃목살), 1 serving ₩16,000
- Jiri Mountain black pork five-layer belly (오겹살), 1 serving ₩19,000
Since there were three of us adults, we started light and happy with 2 servings of pork belly and 1 serving of pork collar!

Grilling service: the staff cook every cut for you
Cham Dwaejitgan Jongno Main Branch's biggest advantage is its complete grilling service. Staff grilled all the meat themselves, so we didn't have to worry at all about burning anything and could just relax and focus on catching up. On the table came fragrant domestic minari (water celery) along with thinly sliced potatoes and various other side dishes.
The fully cooked pork belly was crispy outside, juicy inside — exactly what you want! Pairing it with minari grilled in pork fat really brought out the flavor. The crispy potato wraps, where you grill thin potato slices and wrap the meat in them, were also a treat, and the tangy shiitake wasabi sauce had a real kick haha.

Adding 2 servings of Jiri Mountain black pork five-layer belly
The meat was so good and we couldn't let the momentum stop, so we added 2 more servings of the five-layer belly and dove back in until we were completely full. (You can tell just from the color haha.)

The Jiri Mountain black pork belly still had the skin attached, so it was wonderfully chewy and springy. The charcoal and rice husk smoking gave the meat a deep, rich flavor.
Pork belly needs soju, and honestly, in my whole life I've never seen a place quite like this!

They even looked after our liver health haha (thanks to that, no hangover haha). Oh, and one more thing!!
Is there a wait at Cham Dwaejitgan? Book ahead
The meat quality is excellent and the grilling service is amazing, but there can be a wait, so I'd recommend booking a reservation before you visit!
I stepped away to the restroom for a moment, and by the time I got back a wait line had formed out of nowhere,, (if we'd arrived a bit later, I'd have been standing there waiting too, ugh).

Final verdict on this Jongno3-ga Korean BBQ
My score: five stars! We had a perfect evening with friends we hadn't seen in a long time. If you're looking for a great pork belly restaurant in Jongno, Seoul, this is the place — Cham Dwaejitgan Jongno Main Branch, highly recommended!
One more thing — when you're heading out after your meal, they have mouthwash, floss, and Febreze ready to go, so it's a great place to leave feeling refreshed, and you can even charge your phone, so keep that in mind!
After eating well like this, if you walk just a little further you land right on Jongno's pojangmacha (street food tent) street! Perfect for a round one of barbecue followed by a round two of light drinks at a pojangmacha! When you're craving good pork belly, definitely give this place a visit.
