What is Camon Bundang Sunae Station Flagship?
Camon Bundang Sunae Station Flagship (까몬 분당수내역직영점) is a Vietnamese restaurant near Sunae Station with a really wide range of pho: mala pho, bun cha (grilled pork with cold noodles), spicy pho and more. It's a place where you can forget all the stress of the morning. And there's a huge variety of banh mi (Vietnamese sandwiches) too!

I was stressed, so I wanted red broth! I went looking for something spicy, got hooked on mala pho, and ordered it with wing-bong. And wow, the portions at Camon are seriously big. This is the story of a Sunae Station restaurant I was genuinely happy with. Let's go~~!
Camon near Sunae Station: location and atmosphere
Camon is at 17 Baekhyeon-ro 101beon-gil, 1st floor, Unit 109, Bundang-gu, Seongnam. I ended up here while looking for lunch near Sunae Station. The menu is huge, so if you like Vietnamese food, you'll probably agonize over it like I did.

First of all, the restaurant feels clean and tidy. It's comfortable for eating alone and seems fine for an office lunch group too. When lunchtime came, office workers from the area kept streaming in. There's a reason this is a popular Sunae Station spot, I thought.

What kinds of pho are on the Camon menu?
The menu runs from classic pho to spicy pho, mala pho, bun cha and banh mi. So many choices, which is a happy kind of problem haha. That day I absolutely wanted something spicy, so I ordered the mala pho. And I added wing-bong! Honestly I didn't expect much from the wings, but they turned out to be a must-order.

What does Camon's mala pho taste like?

Camon's mala pho is a generous portion with a spicy broth where the mala aroma isn't overpowering. My first thought when it arrived: "Why is there so much?" It really comes out heaping. These days portions out are often disappointing, but Camon satisfied me from the look of it alone. The mala pho looked amazing: red broth packed with meat, bean sprouts and all kinds of ingredients, and just looking at it felt like stress melting away.
I tried the broth first and wow... this is totally my style. The mala flavor isn't too strong, and it's nicely spicy and sharp. Even mala beginners could handle it, I think. That said, it's not like the mala is missing; the subtle aroma that rises up is just right.

Lots of mala dishes these days are overly intense, but Camon's mala pho kept the clean taste of pho itself while adding the appeal of mala. You keep spooning up the broth. Seriously dangerous.
The rice noodles don't snap apart; they're chewy and soft. The broth soaks in well, so every bite was satisfying.
There were plenty of bean sprouts and a good amount of meat, and I kept thinking, "They give this much for this price?" It's a really good lunch option.

Are Camon's wing-bong (chicken wings) worth adding to mala pho?
Camon's wing-bong is a never-fail menu item :) Crispy outside and juicy inside. The frying was good and the seasoning was just right. It pairs especially well with the mala pho.
A sip of spicy broth, a bite of wing-bong, then broth again. I kept repeating that and it vanished in no time. Honestly, I'd order the wing-bong again on my next visit for sure.

Is Camon's banh mi popular too?
Looking at the tables around me, lots of people were eating banh mi. The bread looked good and the fillings were generous, so I plan to try the banh mi next time. Pho and banh mi together sounds like a good combo.

Is Camon a good pho restaurant for eating alone near Sunae Station?
Plenty of people eat solo here at lunchtime, so it's easy to dine alone. The staff were friendly too, so I felt good throughout the meal. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a Sunae Station restaurant that's comfortable for one.

That wraps up my story of a Sunae Station restaurant I was genuinely happy with: Camon's mala pho and wing-bong for lunch~~
