Daejeon inari shop: 6 kinds for a next-day office lunch, Kitsune Yubu

Kitsune Yubu Daejeon Dunsan is a jumbo inari sushi (rice in fried tofu pouches) shop on the 1st floor of Daedeok Plaza near Daejeon City Hall, in Dunsan-dong, Seo-gu. After hurting a foot and having to eat lunch at the office, the writer took out 6 kinds (flying fish roe, Bulldak shrimp, cream shrimp, savory yukhoe, tuna mayo and sweet-and-salty beef brisket) at 2,500 to 3,500 won each, eating some that evening and the rest for the next day's office lunch. Kitsune Yubu's inari sushi is fist-sized, so just two pieces kept the writer full until the end of the workday.

Daejeon bakery café: 3:20pm fresh mango yogurt Wakppuso at Reelbakers

Reelbakers is a large bakery café on Munjeong-ro in Tanbang-dong, Seo-gu, Daejeon, focused on salt bread and pastries. On a weekend afternoon with a friend, the writer had a Reel latte, an Americano, a Dubai croissant and a vanilla cruffin. With luck, the writer also caught the mango yogurt cream Wakppuso (a chocolate-coated, cream-filled salt bread, ₩7,500) fresh out at about 3:20pm. The Reelbakers Wakppuso keeps the salt bread's crunch under its chocolate coating and cream, making it a must-try.

300g steak set meat upgrade in Munji-dong, Daejeon: Seoreojeong

Seoreojeong Munji Branch is a steak and pasta restaurant on a corner of Munji-dong in Yuseong, Daejeon. On a weekday afternoon the day before a holiday, the writer and her younger sister ordered the 300g chuck flap steak set with the meat upgrade and shared a tomato hangover pasta and a cod roe perilla oil pasta. Not one tough bite in the chuck flap made the regular wait at Seoreojeong easy to understand.
