What is Reelbakers like?

Reelbakers (릴베이커스) is a bakery café at 1st floor, 76 Munjeong-ro, Seo-gu, Daejeon. It is open every day from 08:00 to 22:00, with last order at 21:30. Parking is available.

Today I came to Reelbakers for the Wakppuso! It's super hot right now and hard to find anywhere else, but I lucked into one unplanned, T_T

Can you find a seat on a weekend afternoon?

The shop is huge, so there are lots of seats!! It sits on a big corner, so it was easy to find too.

I loved that there were so many seats. I came at 2pm on a weekend, the busiest time, and luckily there was still one table.

The interior is so pretty too T_T A bit Nordic, don't you think?

What bread does Reelbakers have?

Salt bread and pastries seem to be the main focus at Reelbakers. I came around 2:30pm and a lot of the bread was already gone T_T Pastries seemed to be the main thing, with lots of desserts made from pastry dough.

There were also garlic butter salt bread, raspberry chocolat and mentaiko mayo (spicy pollock roe) salt bread!

When is the salt bread restocked?

The plain salt bread at Reelbakers sells out and gets refilled around 4pm!! Asking staff when each bread comes out and timing your visit seems like a smart strategy.

Drink prices and what we ordered at Reelbakers

At Reelbakers I ordered the Reel latte (₩6,000) and an Americano (₩4,800, Mocharis blend). There are plenty of drinks to choose from, which I liked.

Receipt review prize draw and goods

Reelbakers is running a prize draw for receipt reviews! There are no losing tickets, so even last prize gets a Reelbakers pen, haha

There are Nordic-style goods too, so have a look!!

There's an oven in a corner so you can warm up your bread. The owner is so thoughtful and really knows bread...

Now, shall we go eat our bread and coffee?!!?

How do the Reel latte and Americano taste?

The signature Reel latte isn't sweet and tastes a bit like a white Americano!! It's smooth, so it goes well with bread.

I picked the Ethiopia + Brazil blend Americano. It has almost no acidity, so people who like a nutty, roasty flavor will enjoy it!!

How are the Dubai croissant and vanilla cruffin?

For dessert I ordered the Dubai croissant (₩7,000) and the vanilla cruffin (₩5,600).

Aren't they gorgeous, tall and pretty, my cruffin and Dubai dessert..

The Dubai croissant had a rich pistachio flavor and I loved it!! The chocolate outside wasn't very sweet either, so it was nice and mellow.

The vanilla cruffin is packed with cream, and the outside is crisp with sugar for a great texture! This dessert wasn't sweet either, so you could taste the nutty flavor too!!

What time does the Wakppuso come out at Reelbakers?

On a weekend at about 3:20pm, the mango yogurt cream croissant and the Wakppuso came out at Reelbakers, both at ₩7,500. And!!!!! While chatting with my friend it turned 3:20 and the mango yogurt cream croissant and the Wakppuso came out!!!!!!!

Aaaaah!!! Scream with meeee!!!! Both are ₩7,500!!

My shiny Wakppuso... I paid right away and brought it to our table.

Smashing the Wakppuso to taste it

Kyaaaah I really wanted to try this!!!!!!

Can you hear that?!??! Even with the crowd noise, you can hear it T_T

My poor, utterly smashed Wakppuso, lol. Why buy a Wakppu ball when Reelbakers has the Wakppuso,,

Once it's all smashed it doesn't look great,, haha, but it has mango plus mango jam inside, so it was so refreshing!

The cream is yogurt, so it isn't very sweet, which I really liked. And the amazing part is that even with the chocolate coating and cream, the crunch of the salt bread kept coming through. Reelbakers must be good at salt bread too. Next time I'm planning to get a plain salt bread!!!

I was so, so satisfied with the Wakppuso at Reelbakers!! I really recommend everyone visit and try it, haha
