Doris Patisserie is famous as a Sokcho egg tart spot! It's right in the center of Central Market, and the pink exterior really catches your eye.

The 10am first pickup slot: reservation line and walk-in line are separate

At Doris Patisserie you wait in line in front of the shop, but the walk-in line and the reservation line are different, so make sure you line up in the right one!! I booked a 10am pickup so I got into the first round, and they opened right at 10 on the dot.

• Doris Patisserie runs 3–4 rounds a day timed to their baking schedule (1 hour per round).
• Each round handles reserved-customer pickup first, then sells any remaining stock to waiting customers in order.
• Once the prepared quantity sells out, that round closes.

Doris Patisserie menu: three egg tarts, plus financiers and madeleines

Doris Patisserie's egg tarts come in three flavors: original, walnut, and cream cheese!

There were so many financier and madeleine flavors it was hard to choose ㅠㅠ Original, fig cream cheese, pistachio, hwangchi (yellow cheese), coconut, chocolate. Madeleines come in vanilla, lemon, and Earl Grey.

They kept baking egg tarts on one side of the shop, and the whole place was filled with a sweet, delicious smell... haha

While I was packing up, the owner gave me a tasting egg tart, and eating it warm right away was so good ㅠㅠ The crust was thin and layered so it was crispy, and the filling inside was super soft and nutty with just the right sweetness — would be amazing with coffee... I ate one on the way to my lodging and it disappeared in seconds ㅋㅋㅋㅋ If you like egg tarts, you have to try this!

I bought one box of half original, half cream cheese egg tarts, and one box of half madeleines, half financiers. Totally recommend as a gift! Everyone was buying extra on top of their pickup. It's not too sweet, so even my husband said it was really delicious.

I was told the financiers are great frozen too, so I tried eating them straight from the freezer — amazing!! Perfect with coffee!! An egg tart spot, a madeleine spot, a financier spot! If you like baked goods, definitely give this place a try.
