Andover is a Western restaurant in Pangyo where the food isn't harsh and you can really taste the ingredients, so it was easy on my stomach. From the lasagna to the shrimp bisque pasta, every dish felt made with care, and the pretty interior made it great for a date. If you're looking for brunch or a nice restaurant on the Baekhyeon-dong café street, I recommend Andover.

What kind of Western restaurant is Andover in Pangyo?
Andover is a Western restaurant on the Baekhyeon-dong café street in Pangyo, and its biggest strength was food that doesn't weigh on your stomach afterward. It's also well placed for heading to a nearby café after your meal, so it works as a brunch spot too.
Finding a good Western restaurant these days is harder than you'd think. Many places are too heavy-handed with flavor, or their menus all look the same. This time I wanted to look properly, and I came across Andover in Pangyo by chance while searching.
To start with the conclusion: it was quite satisfying even among the restaurants I've visited recently. Best of all for me, the food didn't leave my stomach feeling heavy. It wasn't bland, either. You could taste the ingredients themselves, and the overall balance was good, so I really enjoyed it.
If you're looking for brunch in Pangyo, it's worth checking out! It's on the Baekhyeon-dong café street, so it's also a convenient spot to eat and then carry on to a nearby café.

Is Andover's atmosphere good for a date?
Andover is a spacious place with big floor-to-ceiling windows, wood tables and black-and-white photos covering the walls, which suited a date well. On nice days, it looked like you could eat on the outdoor terrace too.
The atmosphere surprised me the moment I walked in. Before even getting to the food, I liked the space. The big windows catch your eye right away and the wood tables blend in naturally, so the whole place feels warm yet clean.
The black-and-white photos filling the walls were especially striking. It didn't feel like a few pictures hung up here and there. It felt like eating inside a small photo exhibition, which put me in a good mood even before the meal :)
The space is fairly large, so the tables didn't feel cramped. Besides dates, it looked fine for friends or family too. The French-leaning feel mixed with a modern interior also seemed like it would photograph nicely. And on a nice day, eating on the outdoor terrace sounds great.
Personally, I thought this atmosphere would suit people looking for a Western restaurant in Pangyo for a date especially well.

Andover's signature lasagna: price and taste
Andover's signature lasagna costs ₩29,000 and is layered with cheese and béchamel cream over a house-made ragù packed with meat. The deep sauce and soft cream go well together, and it's worth trying as the signature dish on a first visit.
I really wanted to try the signature lasagna. It was one of the dishes I ordered that day, and it looked pretty appetizing right away. If you like lasagna, I think it's hard to pass this one up, haha.
Because of the house-made ragù with plenty of meat, I loved the deep flavor of the sauce itself. The cheese and béchamel cream came together for a soft bite. Personally, when lasagna is too rich I stop reaching for it after a few bites, but that day, eaten alongside the other dishes, the combination actually worked well.
When you visit a place for the first time, you want to try at least one signature dish, right? In that sense, if you're deciding what to order at a Western restaurant in Pangyo, put the signature lasagna on your shortlist.

What does Andover's shrimp bisque pasta taste like?
Andover's shrimp bisque pasta costs ₩26,000 and comes with grilled whole shrimp and garlic scapes in a slow-simmered bisque sauce. It can also be ordered spicy, so you can pick to suit your taste.
I properly enjoyed the shrimp bisque pasta too. It was the second dish I ordered, and one I was personally most curious about that day! The whole shrimp make it look appetizing, and if you like the seafood flavor of bisque sauce, I think it would suit you.
Best of all, eating the whole shrimp together with the pasta gave a nice variety of textures within one plate. The garlic scapes mixed in were a quietly good touch as well.
I also heard this dish can be ordered spicy, so if you like spicy pasta, keep that in mind. From people like me who like basic Western dishes to people who prefer a little heat, everyone can eat it their way, which I liked.
Searching for pasta in Pangyo these days turns up so many places. If you want something a bit different from the usual cream or tomato sauce pasta, a bisque pasta like this seems like a good choice.

What should you order to drink at Andover?
At Andover I ordered a Galvanina grapefruit soda (Italian organic soda, 355ml, ₩7,000) and an iced americano (₩4,500). The refreshing grapefruit soda was nice mid-meal, and the coffee was good for chatting after eating.
A fizzy drink goes surprisingly well with Western food, haha. The grapefruit freshness in particular made it nice to sip throughout the meal.
Ordering coffee as well meant we could sit a little longer and talk instead of leaving right after eating. On a date, I prefer a place where you can eat slowly and chat over drinks rather than just eating and parting right away. So I thought it would suit people looking for a brunch or date spot in Pangyo too.
Why I recommend Andover for a date or brunch in Pangyo
Andover brought food, atmosphere and service together well, as a Western restaurant on the Baekhyeon-dong café street. If you want pasta, try the shrimp bisque pasta, and if you want something a bit more filling, you could pick the signature lasagna.
I'd especially recommend it to anyone looking for brunch or a Western restaurant on the Baekhyeon-dong café street. The menu is varied enough for lunch or brunch, and the pretty atmosphere made it a great date spot! Above all, it satisfied one thing I care about: whether you feel heavy after eating.
On a nice day, I'd also recommend eating on the outdoor terrace. If you've been looking for a brunch place in Pangyo with a good atmosphere, give Andover a visit.
Next time I want to try the basil salad I haven't had yet, and other dishes too, haha. I found this place by chance through a search, but I was more satisfied than expected, so I'll probably go back the next time I'm near the Baekhyeon-dong café street!
