Indian restaurant in Pangyo with baby-friendly weekday lunch: Bombay
In short
Bombay Broy Pangyo is an Indian restaurant near the Baekhyeon-dong café street parking lot in Seongnam, Gyeonggi. The writer brought her baby to try the weekday-only lunch B set with chicken tikka masala, prawn do piaza, tandoori chicken and garlic naan, and the staff even provided a baby dish set and a taste of plain lassi. Her baby could barely eat anything but the naan, but loved it so much they ordered extra garlic naan.

Pangyo's Indian food spot — off to eat curry at Bombay Broy!
I love eating Indian curry with naan, but since it gets all over your hands, it was hard to manage that with my daughter when she was little, so I'd been holding off for a while. Now that she's a bit older it's much easier, so I finally went to Bombay Broy in Pangyo to get the curry I'd been craving!

This place had a really authentic local feel. The owner (I think) and even the staff were all foreign, and the interior and exterior made it feel like a little getaway — it kind of soothed the disappointment of not going on a summer vacation this year because of moving and interior work stuff, haha.

Weekday lunch B set — how is it different from the A set?

We ordered the B course set. It's only available for weekday lunch, and the difference from the A set is whether or not you get tandoori chicken. At first I wondered if we really needed it, but figured we might as well try it — and I'd definitely recommend going with the B set!! Rather than eating the tandoori chicken alone, it's even better piled on top of the naan with curry, haha.

The standard table setting came with salad, pickles and jalapeños, and since we had our baby with us, they also gave us a taste of plain lassi along with an adorable Pororo baby dish set.

Is it okay to bring a baby along?
She woke up from a nap and clung to me for a while, acting like she was refusing everything, but later she drank the lassi just fine and even inhaled the naan. Honestly, in terms of nutrition, there isn't much a baby can eat here (basically just naan, lol), so it might be tough to visit often with a baby. Still, if you think of it as a light one-off meal, naan seemed to suit her taste buds so well that she ate a ton — it'd be a good spot to hit whenever I get a craving for curry, haha.

Two curries: chicken tikka masala and prawn do piaza
With the B set, we ordered two curries — one spicy chicken tikka masala, and one mild prawn do piaza with shrimp in it! Our little princess didn't eat the curry itself, but I rinsed off a shrimp topping and gave that to her, haha.

The tandoori chicken wasn't super spicy, but it was too spicy for a baby, so I pulled off just the plain white meat that hadn't absorbed the seasoning and rinsed it once more before giving it to her; the rest my husband and I ate. We ordered garlic naan, and it was delicious, haha.

How we picked the two curries
I like curry rice too, but I feel like I go looking for authentic, local-style Indian curry as if it were a completely different food. I'm a total rice person, but with curry, naan is really the perfect match, so I never even thought about rice. When picking two curries, I went by spicy vs. non-spicy and different toppings like chicken vs. shrimp. Both were delicious and we scraped the plates clean, but personally I think the mild, smooth curry was a bit tastier. For reference, chicken tikka masala is their signature dish, so keep that in mind.

It looks like a small portion, but it fills you up until evening
We dipped naan deep into the curry like this, and also piled a bit of tandoori chicken on top to eat together. Honestly, looking at the amount of naan and curry, you'd think it wouldn't be nearly enough and you'd still be hungry, but after eating it, I was full — and the fullness lasted so long that I wasn't hungry again until evening, haha.

After waking up, our princess turned into a naan thief (?), sneakily pulling naan out from under mom and dad's portions. She loved it so much we ordered more naan and shared it all together at a leisurely pace. She must've really liked the garlic naan, because she kept saying it was delicious, lol.

It's been a while since I went out to Pangyo, and while I was at it I found a great restaurant — this Indian curry spot, Bombay Broy!! I'd love to go back again. The charm of curry, honestly...

Rice comes with it too
Rice comes with the set as well, and my husband mixed the leftover curry into his rice, lol. I was too full to eat it myself. But apparently it's delicious with rice too, so if you're someone who absolutely has to have rice with a meal, keep that in mind, haha.
