Where is Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Sikdang Tanbang, and why go back?

Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Sikdang Tanbang (한마음정육식당 탄방점) is a Korean BBQ restaurant on the 2nd floor at 417 Dosan-ro, Tanbang-dong 75-5, Seo-gu, Daejeon. My husband wanted to meet friends who live in Daejeon, and we were wondering where near our place would be good. We ended up at the Tanbang-dong meat spot we'd already been to before!

The menu runs from beef to pork, so it's usually packed anyway. We booked ahead👁️👁️

There are plenty of seats inside, and they set aside a reserved table for us! Traffic was bad on the way so we were a bit late, hehe👀❤️ They had set everything out so neatly!

What side dishes come with the meal, and how do you order?

Lots of sides come out, from doenjang-jjigae (soybean paste stew) to scallion salad, and you order the meat easily on a kiosk. I loved that you can keep the doenjang-jjigae simmering and eat it throughout👍🏻

Hanmaeum is famous for its pork, but we wanted beef too, so we ordered it, and they do beef well too💛😌

There's geotjeori (fresh kimchi salad), and wrapping it up with the meat is so good⭐️👀

Is Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Sikdang Tanbang kid-friendly? A full playroom

Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Sikdang Tanbang has a separate playroom for children, so it's perfect for parents with kids! My husband's friends have a child, and they got a baby chair ready for us too, so we ate happily♥️

The steamed egg was so soft and fluffy! It's one of my favorites, so I think I ate almost all of it, haha. Pretty much all by myself🙋🏻‍♀️

Whole-cow beef set: how big is it and how does it taste?

The whole-cow set comes with several cuts of beef, and the portion is big enough that it's really great to share among four! The husbands grilled hard while we ate hard👁️👁️ They grilled it so well that we got to eat in comfort, haha.

Usamgyeop and chadol-baegi: great with just salt

The usamgyeop (thin-sliced beef belly) in the set was really rich and tasty! The chadol-baegi (thin brisket) especially was so savory that it was delicious just dipped in salt❤️

Here are the husbands grilling away, and the meat is gone the moment it's cooked, haha. The beef here is really good. Don't just get the pork, try the beef too🫪

Tender galbi-sal that cooks fast over a hot grill

The galbi-sal (rib meat) was also wonderfully tender, and the fire here is strong so it cooks quickly💛 We grilled mushrooms too, and my husband caught up with a friend he hasn't seen in a while, haha.

Seeing beef just keep coming, the amount is really huge! The price is great too, which is probably why it's so busy😌 There's a reason this Tanbang-dong meat spot is famous!

Should you add the whole-pig pork set?

The whole-pig set has samgyeopsal (pork belly), ogyeopsal (five-layer pork belly), moksal (pork neck), hangjeongsal (pork jowl) and gabrisal (pork collar), so you get lots of cuts at once. We said, "Well, pork is what this place is known for," and ordered it too. The portion is huge, right?

The meat is thick and juicy⭐️👁️👁️ It's fresh and plentiful, perfect for a get-together!

Pork is best cooked until crisp, but both the beef and the pork were great❤️ The prices are so good that next time we meet up, we'll have to come here again! 👍🏻

Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Sikdang Tanbang: final verdict

This Tanbang-dong meat spot has a kids' zone (playroom), so it's great for parents to come together. They say the meat is aged twice, for 144 hours at 2°C, and maybe that's why it was so tender and tasty♥️

• Beef: jin-galbi-sal, galbi-sal, rib on the bone, buchae-sal and usamgyeop, by cut
• A playroom and baby chairs make it easy for get-togethers with kids
