Where is Easy White Bread in Sinjungdong, Bucheon?

Easy White Bread Bucheon Sinjung-dong (이지화이트브레드) is a fresh-loaf bakery at 272 Gilju-ro, Wonmi-gu, Bucheon, Gyeonggi, open daily from 09:00 to 21:00. It's a 10-minute walk from Exit 3 of Sinjungdong Station, and there's parking nearby.

Easy White Bread inside and out: a bakery using only AOP-certified butter

Easy White Bread is really close to Sinjungdong Station. I'd been wondering what was opening next to Ten Percent Coffee, and it turned out to be this soft-loaf bakery, newly opened, so I rushed over to check it out.

They bake fresh loaves with carefully chosen ingredients every morning, and you could smell the bread from far away.

Inside there are a few small tables and chairs, so you can try the bread on the spot and have a coffee too.

Can you still buy fresh loaves at Easy White Bread in the afternoon?

I visited in the afternoon, and there was still bread left, maybe because they keep baking. Loaves come out in the morning and again in the afternoon, and they prepare enough quantity that you can buy comfortably even on weekends.

They also sell cream cheese, which is even better spread on the bread. I bought the pecan cream cheese too. The owner roasts the pecans himself/herself and it isn't very sweet, so it was totally my style.

Easy White Bread says it uses AOP-certified French butter. That butter is very expensive, which means the loaf is one whose taste is guaranteed.

Fresh loaves are ₩11,000 for a whole loaf and ₩6,000 for a half, and they're moist and full of buttery flavor.

Bread shops usually don't sell coffee, but Easy White Bread does, so it looked great for taking a loaf and a coffee to go. Beyond the plain loaves there's a really wide variety, and lots of jams too, perfect for picking and choosing.

How do you choose your slice thickness?

You can pick one of three thicknesses for your loaf: 1.5cm, 2.0cm or 2.5cm.

• 1.5cm: good with butter and jam
• 2cm: best for enjoying the Golden Beurre flavor
• 2.5cm: suited to toast or French toast

In front of the shop they've cut up plenty of sample slices, so you can taste and chat a little with the owner, which I loved. The owner was so kind and adorable that this walker (no car, just my feet!) was happy just chatting.

Personally I don't want slices as thick as 2cm, so I asked for 1.5cm, and the owner cut it right there on the spot.

How did the Golden Beurre half loaf and pecan cream cheese taste?

This time I ordered a Golden Beurre half loaf for ₩6,000 and pecan cream cheese for ₩1,500.

The pecan cream cheese was handmade by the owner, who roasts the pecans too. It isn't sweet, and spread on the bread it lifted the loaf's flavor, so good!

Golden Beurre half loaf, ₩6,000

The Golden Beurre half loaf is slightly yellowish rather than white. The butter flavor isn't in-your-face but subtle, which I loved.

There's no sweetness at all and the bread is soft, so it seems perfect as a breakfast loaf.

Golden Beurre with cream cheese spread on top is the perfect pairing, so if you go to Easy White Bread, the cream cheese isn't optional, it's a must-buy!
