Charcoal BBQ in Sosabeol, Pyeongtaek: grilled cabbage wraps at Binbin
In short
Binbin Charcoal Garden (빈빈숯불가든) is a new charcoal BBQ restaurant serving cross-aged pork near Baedari Reservoir in Sosabeol, Pyeongtaek. On a rainy day the writer ordered the cross-aged pork belly and neck set (45,000 won) and tried the signature bangah (Korean mint) almond doenjang sauce, cabbage wraps grilled on the barbecue plate and the free kimchi stew. Even the pork neck at Binbin Charcoal Garden was juicy rather than dry, making it a solid pick for anyone looking for Korean BBQ in Sosabeol.

A brand-new BBQ place on a rainy day: Binbin's atmosphere
Maybe because it's brand new, the exterior was really clean and stylish. Visiting on a rainy day made it feel even more atmospheric~ 🫧

I heard the name Binbin means proving the essence of meat with unwavering stubbornness, and adding depth to the space with understated style ✨ You can feel it's a brand that pursues both a refined look and the deep flavor of the food itself.

Are there seats for group dinners and family gatherings?
Inside, the space is long and wide, so it felt super comfortable 💕 There's also a large room at the back that fits up to 24 people, so it looks great for company dinners and get-togethers 👀
Baby chairs are available too, so Binbin is perfect for family gatherings!

They even have a separate meat aging room on one side, so they're serious about meat 🫢 I couldn't wait to taste the nutty flavor of the cross-aged meat ‼️

What are Binbin's menu and prices?
The menu had pork belly, pork neck, pork jowl (hangjeongsal), yukhoe (Korean beef tartare) and more, plus a good variety of sides 🫶 And I loved that kimchi stew comes free when you order meat ❤️

You can order easily with the QR code at your table. What I ordered came to ₩51,000 in total ✅
- Cross-aged pork belly + neck ₩45,000
- 2 bowls of rice ₩2,000
- 2 drinks ₩4,000

How do the side dishes, salt and mint almond doenjang sauce taste?
The side dishes included kimchi, seasoned young perilla leaves, radish salad (musaengchae) and wrap vegetables, a nice variety to go with the meat 🧡
The kimchi is from kimchi master "Kang Sun-ui", the radish salad stayed crunchy, and the fragrant, fresh young perilla leaves were totally my taste 🔥 The salt isn't ordinary either. They use glasswort (hamcho) salt that boosts the savory flavor, which is amazing ✨

This one is Binbin's signature sauce, the mint almond doenjang (fermented soybean paste) sauce 😋 They say the savory almond adds to the meat's nutty aroma while the bangah (Korean mint) holds the aftertaste, making it harmonious 💚
Cross-aged pork belly + neck: do the staff grill it?
The cross-aged pork belly + neck I ordered arrived. Super thick, right? The staff grill each cut properly, so you get meat that's cooked really evenly 👍

I tried the pork belly first! It was springy and thick and so good 😋 Dipped in this mint almond doenjang sauce, the nutty aroma of well-aged meat and the unique sauce together were heaven 🤎
How big and how tasty is the free kimchi stew?
A kimchi stew made with kimchi aged in their own aging room also came as standard! It was packed with kimchi and cross-aged meat 🫢
The portion was so big I wondered if it was really the free one. Total bargain! The flavor was rich and good, so I even put my rice in it 🫶

Wraps with cabbage grilled on the grill
Unusually, Binbin tells you to grill cabbage on the grill alongside the meat and wrap with it 🫢 I'd never thought of that combo, but it looks delicious just sitting there~~

Wrap it once the cabbage turns golden brown and it's really good ‼️ It has a different charm from lettuce or perilla leaf wraps 💕

Is Binbin's pork neck good too?
Even the pork neck was really good! Personally, I've seen lots of places with great pork belly, but few where the neck is good too.. here the neck genuinely wasn't dry, and it was full of juice, so it was a joy to eat 👍

When the meat is this good, the wraps need no explanation. Insanely good 💚

Wrapped in my favorite pickled radish (ssambu) and myeongi namul (pickled wild garlic leaves), it was a truly satisfying meal ✨ If you're looking for BBQ in Bijeon-dong or Sosabeol, I highly recommend Binbin Charcoal Garden ☺️
