Goyang Deogyang-gu garden café: hydrangea-view window seats, Baedagol

In short

Baedagol Bakery House is a garden bakery café on Hoguk-ro in Deogyang-gu, Goyang, Gyeonggi. During full hydrangea bloom, a 1st-floor window seat at Baedagol Bakery House gives an eye-level view of the garden, alongside a fresh mango seasonal menu, breads and cakes. Seats are hard to find even on weekdays, but the hydrangea-season garden alone is reason enough to return to Baedagol Bakery House.

I visited Baedagol Bakery House, a café in Deogyang-gu, Goyang. The timing was perfect, and I got to enjoy a garden packed with beautiful hydrangeas! They were so pretty that it felt like a waste to keep them to myself, so I hope you'll go and see them too :)

Is Baedagol Bakery House crowded on weekdays?

Baedagol Bakery House is so busy that even on a weekday afternoon it's hard to find a seat. It feels like it has become really famous now... (T_T) Well, I'm probably not the only one who thinks a place like this is great, right? Once you visit, you can't help coming back again and again...

Honestly, even with all the customers, it's still a great place. It has an atmosphere you can only feel at Baedagol Bakery House. Still my favorite café~

Baedagol Bakery House's current seasonal menu: fresh mango

Baedagol Bakery House develops drinks and bakery items around each season's signature fruit, and when I visited it was fresh mango season, so there was a wide range of mango desserts. Both drinks and bakery items had mango options, so it was a full-on mango party 🫢

  • Fresh mango ade
  • Fresh mango latte
  • Fresh mango yogurt smoothie
  • Fresh mango shaved ice (bingsu)
  • Fresh mango coconut smoothie
  • Mango slice cake
  • Mango whipped cream croissant

I had the fresh mango yogurt smoothie once. It was a bit pricey, but with whole mango piled on top, I thought it was worth the price. And the taste? Needless to say, delicious~

How are the breads and cakes at Baedagol Bakery House?

As a bakery café, Baedagol Bakery House has a wide variety of breads, but they don't stack up a huge supply; they bring out small batches steadily. And you know what? That's actually why I like it. Small batches coming out steadily feels tidy, and as a customer I prefer it.

I've lost count of how many times I've been to Baedagol, and every time I make sure to eat bread. I've never been let down. Whatever I eat is at least a solid, decent bake.

By the way, the cakes at Baedagol Bakery House are good too... cakes that win over even people who don't like sweets~

I heard there's a bakery discount after 7 p.m.

I heard Baedagol Bakery House offers a bakery discount if you come after 7 p.m. This Goyang café feels like visiting someone's house in a quiet spot on the outskirts. With more and more customers coming every day, I'm surely not the only one who feels the good vibe of this space, right?! I've only ever been during the day, and I think the evening would have a different mood, so I plan to visit in the evening soon. A bakery discount on top of that... even more tempting...

Seating at Baedagol Bakery House: 2nd-floor private space and terrace vs. 1st-floor window

The attic-like private space and terrace on the 2nd floor

On the 2nd floor of Baedagol Bakery House there's a room-like private space, and if you go out the door there's a terrace with outdoor tables. It isn't in my photos, but the private space on the 2nd floor is really cozy. Kind of like an attic? Of course, the other seats are all nice too. Nobody was using the terrace because of the heat, but I bet it's a pretty popular spot in autumn or spring when a cool breeze blows.

1st-floor window seats put the garden at eye level

Luckily, a seat opened up just in time and I got to sit by the window on the 1st floor of Baedagol Bakery House. Lucky, lucky!!

If the 2nd floor's advantage is looking down over the whole garden from above, the 1st floor's advantage is seeing the garden at eye level.

Baedagol Bakery House's hydrangea garden at full bloom

It was hydrangea peak season, so the garden at Baedagol Bakery House was full of them. How do they tend the flowers so beautifully? You need good timing to catch hydrangeas in full bloom, and thanks to that I got to enjoy my fill of flower-viewing at Baedagol Bakery!

Discount events at Baedagol Bakery House

Baedagol Bakery House runs a variety of discount events, including a review event, a discount for Incheon and Goyang residents, and a birthday event, so keep that in mind.

A café this good in Goyang... word has probably already gotten around, but I'd love even more people to know about it! Baedagol Bakery House is purely my taste, but I recommend it wholeheartedly! haha
