Famous Benny is a brand-new brunch café in Gwangalli, and I was so happy with my last visit that I came back with the baby 😊
Famous Benny Gwangalli: opening hours and parking
Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch is open every day from 8am to 6pm, with last order at 5pm. There's no parking at the café itself, but there are several lots right next door, including Millak Sea Land Public Parking Lot and Taeyang Parking Lot.

Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch is near the Millak Administrative Welfare Center, and it's not far from Gwangalli Beach.
Use the main entrance on the 1st floor, or take the stairs on the left to go straight up to the 2nd floor.
Famous Benny 1st-floor seating and outdoor terrace
Step through the 1st-floor door and you'll find the counter and seating. If you go inside past the stairs, the restroom is there too.
The 1st floor has outdoor seats as well as indoor ones, and last time I sat outside and enjoyed brunch in the warm sunshine.
It's so hot these days that sitting outside would have cooked me, so I chose to sit indoors today. Coming early in the morning or after 4pm would probably be nice for sitting outside.
What's the 2nd floor of Famous Benny like?
Head up to the 2nd floor and you get cool full-glass windows with a balcony, and a warm, cozy café atmosphere.
On the corner shelf right by the 2nd-floor stairs there's water, blankets and more, so you don't even have to go back down to the 1st floor.
Why Famous Benny in Gwangalli works with a baby and stroller
Famous Benny has baby chairs on both the 1st and 2nd floors, and there's space under the stairs to leave a stroller. I came with the baby again, as I did last time, and when you go out with a baby you end up checking just two things: can the stroller come in, and are there baby chairs?
Both floors have baby chairs, so you can bring a baby. If you come with a stroller like me and eat inside, there's a spot under the stairs like this where you can park the stroller for a moment and sit the baby in one of the baby chairs inside.
On my earlier visit, when it wasn't so hot, I left the stroller in that spot and ate outside. If the weather isn't an issue, sitting outside with a baby sounds good too.
Also, since it opens at 8am, it's a good option if you're wondering what to do with a baby who's up early. Like me, you can come first thing and have a coffee.
What I ordered at Famous Benny: The Famous Benny and bacon scramble toast
Famous Benny is a brunch café, so brunch is naturally what it's known for. I ordered the signature dish, The Famous Benny.
Besides The Famous Benny, I ordered bacon scramble toast, apple carrot juice, and a vanilla latte made with Dukes Coffee, which is famous in Australia. The presentation was absolutely stunning.

The bacon scramble toast comes with sourdough, scrambled eggs and bacon. I love avocado, so I added avocado.
The Famous Benny: choose bacon or salmon
With The Famous Benny you can choose bacon or salmon, and I was craving bacon for the first time in a while, so I went with bacon. Lift up the red lettuce and there's plenty of salad inside, plus two poached eggs!
Why I came back: Dukes Coffee vanilla latte
The reason I came back after last time is that the coffee was so good.
Australia is a country that's seriously into coffee, so whenever a place says it uses Australian coffee, I love coffee enough that I always order the coffee first. And the coffee at Famous Benny is sooo good!!!
Can you take leftovers home from Famous Benny?
Yes, you can!! Famous Benny packed up the brunch I couldn't finish as prettily as if it were a freshly ordered dish.
The portion looked small, but as I ate, I realized how big it actually was.. I couldn't finish, so I asked if I could take the rest home, and they packed it up so nicely. I thought the cream cheese on the side would be thrown away, but they packed it too, which was great. It was wrapped like a freshly ordered dish, and even when I got home it hadn't gotten messy and kept its shape, which I loved.
That was my return visit to Famous Benny, which I'd recommend to anyone looking for a Gwangalli brunch café that opens early in the morning.
