Gwangalli brunch café with Minrak Sealand Market parking: Famous Benny
In short
Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch is an Australian-style brunch café in Minrak-dong, Suyeong-gu, Busan. While home visiting family, we ordered four dishes at Famous Benny (mushroom soup, Egg in Hell, the signature The Famous Benny and French toast) and parked at the Minrak Sealand Market public parking lot. With flower-topped plating and pets welcome, Famous Benny is a lovely place for a pretty breakfast in Gwangalli.

Once summer starts coming around, I can't help but think of Busan, haha. I'm from Busan, and I went down to visit my parents' place over the weekend — since it had been a while, I wanted to make the most of the morning. I went to a brunch café with my family and it was so pretty and so good that I had to come back and recommend it.

Parking at the Minrak Sealand Market public parking lot
If you're driving, it's worth knowing about the Minrak Sealand Market public parking lot. Since it's near Tonshow Gwangalli Branch, there were a lot of people waiting in line out front, but there actually turned out to be space inside!!

1st and 2nd floor layout, and pet-friendly seating
Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch has a 1st floor where you order, and a spacious 2nd floor with big tables that's great for relaxing. It's also a pet-friendly café, and a lot of families visit with their adorable, gentle dogs — so if you love cute dogs, it's double the joy~

A brunch menu full of Australian café culture
Famous Benny brings the Australian café culture its owner experienced in Sydney into a space where nature and culture blend, serving pretty brunch dishes alongside drinks. There's a wide range of brunch items, plus yogurt bowls, acai bowls, and soups — all easy to enjoy somewhere between a late breakfast and lunch.

They also give you a blueberry cream cheese toast (the 'ex-boyfriend toast') for free if you write a receipt review, which makes the meal feel even more generous.

Four dishes we ordered as a family, with prices
We went in pretty hungry, so we ordered several dishes to satisfy our cravings.
- The Famous Benny (salmon) ₩18,000
- French Toast ₩17,000
- Egg in Hell (shakshuka) ₩15,000
- Mushroom Soup ₩9,000

Mushroom Soup ₩9,000
The mushroom soup came out first as a starter — a rich, thick mushroom soup with a crisp-toasted piece of sourdough on the side. Crunchy onion chips scattered on top added even more texture. There must have been plenty of cheese in it too, because it stretched into long strings, making for a smooth way to wake up the stomach.

Next, our toast, Egg in Hell, and sandwich arrived one after another. Overall, the dishes were beautifully plated with a variety of ingredients — visually striking and filling at the same time.

Egg in Hell (shakshuka) ₩15,000
Egg in Hell turned out to be the 'heaven' version of the Egg in Hell I already knew. Overall it had a rosy color from the cheese melted in, came with two poached eggs, and had sourdough on top — dipping the bread into it was so good. The arugula, flowers, and nuts on top made it feel like a flower bed.

Signature The Famous Benny (salmon) ₩18,000
The Famous Benny, Famous Benny's signature dish, was an open-faced sandwich with a unique look. A soft croissant formed the base, topped with crunchy macadamia nuts and onion chips for texture, and finished with avocado, salmon, poached egg, and sprouts — nutty and full of flavor.

French Toast ₩17,000
Last, the French toast we ordered together looked like something out of a painting. Soft, nutty croissant-base bread soaked in egg and gently pan-fried, topped with bacon and banana, and drizzled all over with a berry compote that was neither too sour nor too sweet — it refreshed what could otherwise be a heavy French toast.
Why I'd recommend this for a Gwangalli brunch
The brunch dishes at Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch were overall nutty and crunchy, with fresh vegetables adding brightness for an even richer flavor, and the flowers placed on every dish made the experience feel even more special, like being pampered. (It's also great for photos!) If you're looking for a light brunch, sandwich, or café to enjoy in Gwangalli, I recommend Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch — one of the area's go-to pretty cafés with distinctive, beautifully plated brunch dishes~
