Yeouido room izakaya coworker reunion: karaage and lamb rack, Nani

I recently heard that a former team lead I was close with at my old company was changing jobs, so I called up all the old office ladies to celebrate over dinner. Since our old company was in Magok, everyone was looking for somewhere easy to stop by on the way home from work, and Yeouido Station won out as the most convenient spot to gather.

I rushed over after work to meet up with my former coworkers, and eating delicious snacks in a private, separated space while catching up after so long was such a joy and so relaxing. I'm here to recommend a great bar for get-togethers in Yeouido.

Are the curtain-partitioned room seats good for a group?

Nani Yeouido Branch is a room izakaya where every table can be closed off with half-walls and curtains, so you can drink privately. Even on a weekday evening, plenty of people had already booked ahead, so I'd recommend reserving in advance. With dim lighting, a private space, and delicious snacks, it was a great place for drinks.

What's on the menu at Nani Yeouido Branch?

There was a wide range of dishes — sashimi and grilled items including lamb, as well as various Japanese-style dishes like perilla oil octopus pasta, braised beef tendon, and hamburg steak, plus fried, stir-fried, and soup menus, all great for pairing with drinks. Drink options were just as varied, with 24 types of sake plus soju, beer, highballs, and sparkling drinks.

Free starters and the Naver receipt-review ice cream

Since it's been so hot and humid lately, we kept it light with beer. The complimentary seaweed salad and fried hardtack were the perfect easygoing pairing. Also, leaving a Naver receipt review gets you free ice cream, so make sure to use it — a nice little bonus snack for a sweltering summer night!

Yakisoba, lamb shoulder rack and chicken karaage

Yakisoba (Japanese stir-fried noodles)

Since we all gathered straight after work, we went hard on the snacks. The simple "yakisoba" we ordered early on came with bean sprouts, bok choy, and plump yakisoba noodles loaded with meat — salty and perfect with beer!!

Lamb shoulder rack

We also ordered the "lamb shoulder rack," made from juicy Australian lamb shoulder, grilled to a crisp and served sizzling on a hot plate. It came in three pieces, generously portioned and cooked just right — every bite burst with juice and had such a rich, savory flavor. It came with cumin as well as a basil sauce, which felt unfamiliar at first, but basil and lamb turned out to be a surprisingly perfect match!! (Total must-order — the lamb shoulder rack!!)

Chicken karaage (Japanese fried chicken)

We also added the "chicken karaage," made with tender chicken thigh, drizzled with teriyaki and mayo sauce — an insane combo with beer....!! It came with a fresh salad on the side, which was great for cutting through the richness now and then.
