Gwangalli pot rice restaurant with free weekend parking: Solsot
In short
Solsot Gwangalli (솔솥 광안리점) is a Korean pot rice (sotbap) restaurant on Gwangnam-ro in Suyeong, Busan, about a 1-minute walk from Gwangalli Beach. On a weekend, the writer parked for free at the Suyeong-gu Office lot, walked over and ordered steak pot rice, abalone pot rice and yurinki (crispy fried chicken in a sweet-sour soy sauce); the abalone pot rice tasted far better wrapped in seaweed and dipped in the special soy sauce. Solsot Gwangalli is a rice restaurant in Gwangalli that the writer recommends for everyone from kids to parents.

Today I went to Solsot, a pot rice (rice cooked in an individual iron pot) spot in Gwangalli, Busan~ Warm pot rice full of fresh, healthy ingredients, plus toasty nurungji (scorched rice), a hearty meal made with real care. If you're traveling in Busan, this is a must-visit, so let me start my Solsot review~
Solsot Gwangalli: location and opening hours
Solsot Gwangalli is a pot rice specialist at 78 Gwangnam-ro, Suyeong-gu, Busan, 1st floor, about a 1-minute walk from Gwangalli Beach. It's open daily 11:00–21:00, with last order at 20:30.

Where do you park for Solsot Gwangalli?
Solsot Gwangalli has no parking lot of its own, so a nearby paid lot is recommended. Here are some close by.
- Bada Parking
- Jiwell Parking
- Gwangalli Beach public parking lot

We visited on a weekend and parked for free at the Suyeong-gu Office lot. It was a bit of a walk from there to Solsot, but we saved on parking fees!!
A spacious, comfortable restaurant: is it okay with kids?

Solsot Gwangalli is quite roomy, with over 50 seats. There are baby chairs and a kids' menu item (cheese pork cutlet), so it seems like a good place for a family meal~ There's a fish tank at the front of the restaurant, and the kids especially loved it, haha
Solsot Gwangalli pot rice menu

The pot rice menu at Solsot Gwangalli is really varied. I was surprised to see wild sea bream pot rice~ There are steak rice bowls, abalone rice bowls, freshwater eel rice bowls, boneless hairtail pot rice and more, and a lobster shrimp pot rice just came out as a new menu item. I liked that there's a wide range to suit every taste and age.
What we ordered
- 1 steak pot rice
- 1 abalone pot rice
- 1 yurinki (fried chicken with sweet-sour sauce)

Solsot Gwangalli gives you either yurinki or a soft drink for a Naver receipt event, so don't miss it~~ (The yurinki's sweet-sour sauce is totally delicious)
Solsot steak pot rice: taste and how to eat it

Solsot's steak pot rice, the looks are insane, right? Loads of steak, loads of nutty sesame seeds, and the ingredients were so generous, which I loved.

Following the guide to eating Solsot the tasty way, I mixed the pot rice all together~

For the steak pot rice, add extra sauce to taste and mix it in~ The sauce is a little salty, so add it bit by bit and adjust as you go ;;; Eating it with the wasabi that comes on the side made the steak pot rice totally delicious!!

Put the nurungji powder from the table into the pot, pour in the broth, cover it with the lid, and eat it near the end of your meal. Pure heaven~
Solsot abalone pot rice: does it come with the abalone innards?

I ordered Solsot's abalone pot rice. There's really a lot of abalone in it~ When I lifted off the abalone meat, there were abalone innards on top of the rice! Now I can enjoy abalone pot rice properly~!!

Just like the steak pot rice, mix the abalone and rice evenly in the pot, move it to your small plate, then add nurungji powder and broth to the pot and cover it with the lid, and that's it~ All that's left is to eat happily~

The abalone pot rice had abalone with a light smoky char flavor, and it was really nutty and delicious! It's good just mixed, but wrapping it in seaweed and dipping it in the special soy sauce made it sooo much better!!
Yurinki alongside the pot rice
I took a bite of the yurinki now and then~ It has a sweet-sour sauce topped with spicy chili, and it went really well with the pot rice!!
Solsot Gwangalli: overall review

Solsot, a Gwangalli, Busan meal spot, gave us a really satisfying meal~ The staff were super friendly and the atmosphere was nice too. As a Gwangalli restaurant that suits everyone from little kids to parents, I recommend Solsot.
