Today I've got a story about visiting the Busan Premium Outlets and getting a really good lunch in before shopping 🤎 I went to browse and shop that day, and let's be honest — you've got to fill up before you shop, right 🛍️🤍

So I decided to eat a good lunch before wandering around, and while looking for a spot I found Bueokgan Restaurant, a Western restaurant in Gijang known for pizza and pasta, at Shinsegae Simon Busan Premium Outlets 🍝✨ I'd eaten at other Bueokgan branches before, so this time I was curious about the Busan Premium Outlets location. Even for the same brand, each branch has a slightly different atmosphere, so I walked in wondering what this one would feel like 🌿

Bueokgan Restaurant is on the first floor, unit 180, of Busan Premium Outlets, so it's right along the shopping route. When I got to the outlet and slowly looked for the store, the place itself was so huge that just browsing around was fun in itself 🛍️

Deciding on a place to eat ahead of time seemed like it would make planning the shopping route easier too. This time I decided to eat a good lunch first and browse slowly afterward 🤎

Finally found Bueokgan Restaurant 🤍 Is this really the Gijang lunch spot, the Busan Western restaurant everyone talks about? Being inside the outlet made it easy to drop in for a meal while shopping, and I liked how clean the interior looked. There was that warm Bueokgan feel right from the entrance, so I snapped a photo 📸✨

What is the atmosphere like at an outlet restaurant?

I thought the inside of Bueokgan at Shinsegae Simon Busan Premium Outlets would feel busy since it's inside an outlet, but it was cozier and calmer than expected. It seemed like a nice spot to rest for a bit during shopping too 🌿

Especially when you shop for a long time, you really need a moment to sit down and eat slowly 😊 For that reason too, the location felt convenient.

Overall it had a clean yet warm mood 🤎 Personally I love this kind of comfortable atmosphere at Bueokgan. It felt good for meeting a friend to eat while shopping, and not too much for a family meal out either. It seemed like a good place to visit with several people and order pizza and pasta to share 🍽️

The three dishes I ordered at Bueokgan that day were sweet potato fries, jambon pizza, and shrimp anchovy oil pasta. Sitting down, I took my time browsing the menu, and since I wanted to try a few things, I ordered a side plus a pizza and a pasta 🍽️

First up, the sweet potato fries I ordered as a side. The name sounds like fried sweet potato sticks, but Bueokgan describes it as sweet potato coated in rice flour for extra crunch.

The outside was fried crispy and the inside had that soft, sweet taste unique to sweet potato 🍠 This kind of dish is great to pick at while waiting for the mains, and also nice to alternate with bites of pizza or pasta 🤍 It was the kind of thing you keep reaching for — one piece, then another. If you like sweet potato, it's worth ordering as a side 😊

🍕 Jambon pizza with honey and pistachio, 24,000 won

And the jambon pizza that caught my eye from the look of it alone 🍕 Bueokgan describes its jambon pizza as topped with jambon (ham) and baked, then finished with honey and pistachios. With jambon on top, it had a different mood from a regular pizza. The dough didn't look too thick either, so splitting it into several slices felt easy 🤍

Up close, the jambon and pistachios on top were even clearer. Taking a bite, the salty flavor of the jambon mixed with the sweet honey came through, giving a nice sweet-and-salty balance 🍯🤎

Personally, I like oil pasta better than cream pasta since it feels a bit lighter. I ordered it to eat alongside the pizza, and the two dishes had different enough moods that they worked well together.

I twirled up the noodles for a bite. That savory, salty flavor typical of oil pasta came through, and biting into shrimp here and there added nice texture too 🦐🤍 If the jambon pizza was sweet and salty, the shrimp anchovy oil pasta was more about umami and savoriness.
