Gwangju Italian restaurant dinner with pumpkin soup: Bueokgan
In short
Bueokgan Sangmu Branch is an Italian restaurant in Seo-gu, Gwangju. I had pumpkin soup, carbonara, and shrimp rosé pasta for dinner; the rich poached-egg carbonara and big shrimp stood out. Bueokgan Sangmu Branch is a lovely choice for dates or a meal with parents.

The evening atmosphere at Bueokgan Sangmu Branch
Exterior and terrace

- It’s neat and has a European feel!!
- Maybe because I visited around dinner, the light spilling out from inside gave it a soft glow and made it feel even cozier.
- The entrance is easy to find, too.
- There’s also a terrace-like space out front with tables and chairs, so I think it would be so nice to eat out there in spring or fall!

Inside and how it works
- There were so many people when I went at dinner time. I waited until everyone had left to take the photos above, haha.
- There are square tables as well as tables with plenty of room to sit!

Isn’t the atmosphere so nice?! The lighting is pretty too, haha. It’s great for a date or for taking your parents out for a meal.

The interior decor pieces are so stylish and pretty, too.

The soft lighting makes it feel even cozier! Rather than looking overly decorated, it feels like just the right spots have been styled, which makes it look even prettier.

- You order at the kiosk, then pay when you leave.
- There’s an umbrella stand, too.
- The restroom is outside and to the left.

They bring you water and a set of cutlery.

I tried the pumpkin soup and pasta

Ta-da~ The lighting adds such a lovely touch, making the food look even prettier, hehe ♥

The pumpkin soup was smooth and creamy, with that subtle, distinctive pumpkin flavor. I think it would make such a good appetizer for anyone who likes pumpkin.
The carbonara was wonderfully thick and rich, with a poached egg on top! When you break that poached egg... ♥ It also had loads of bacon, so I highly recommend it, haha.
The shrimp rosé pasta was full of big shrimp! If you like rosé sauce, I recommend it... ♥

Isn’t the drink so pretty, haha? I can’t remember its name... ah... nope... 😓
A final word after my visit
