Dujeong-dong army stew at 11am, a pot for two feeds three: Cheongwon

Hello, it's today's Buta🐷! Today I went back to a place I go to way too often. Yes, Cheongwon Restaurant: Cooking Budae-jjigae, Dujeong-dong branch, again. Today too, let's gooo Cheongwon budae-jjigae!!😃

Cheongwon Restaurant Dujeong: location, hours and parking

The Dujeong branch is at 32-4 Dujeongsanggga 4-gil, Seobuk-gu, Cheonan, Chungnam, on the first floor. It's open Monday to Saturday from 11am to 9pm, last order is 8:30pm, and it's closed on Sundays. Parking looked like it fits about 4 cars.

It's a famous restaurant that has been on TV. In my opinion, even across the whole country, this is the best budae-jjigae ever. In my 29 years as Buta the pig🐷, I've never had better.

Is Cheongwon Restaurant cool in summer? The hall and rooms

Four air conditioners are running, so even in summer it's as cold as a freezer. A weak air conditioner in summer is so annoying (especially at a hotpot place), but here it's really cool.

The hall is spacious too, so it's roomy. There are rooms at the back as well, so groups and company dinners are fine🙆

Takeout discount, side dishes and self-serve corner at Cheongwon

Another plus of Cheongwon budae-jjigae: takeout is ₩2,000 off. From the takeout reviews I've seen, the portion is huge. If you want to eat at home, takeout is worth a try too.

These are the basic side dishes: kimchi, bean sprouts and stir-fried fish cake. The rest is self-serve, and for the stir-fried fish cake you have to ask.

Unlimited ramyeon and rice self-serve corner

The big plus here is that ramyeon noodles and rice are unlimited! Perfect for big eaters👍👍

We ordered the spicy Cheongwon budae-jjigae for two.

At the Dujeong branch, the egg roll is free for people who come before 11:30. After that, they give it for a receipt review. With egg prices so high, they're amazing😆

Every table also has a broth container.

Order done: the spicy Cheongwon! If you don't like spicy food, order the Songtan one, okay~~

How big and how spicy is the Cheongwon budae-jjigae for two?

Cheongwon budae-jjigae has lots of beef brisket (usamgyeop) and Cheongyang chili peppers. As you can see, there's so much ham and brisket that it surprises you at first. Refreshing, spicy, nutty: "just delicious" is the right expression. I don't think there's a better budae-jjigae anywhere in the country..👍

The staff do everything for you. Such kind staff! Bubbling away, it looks so good, my mouth is watering.

Look at the portion, it's huge, right? It's for two people, but you'd need three to finish it! When it tastes this good and there's this much, you push through even when you're full😆

This is the review egg roll. Wow, I think it's my first time eating it after visiting at 11. It's thick, and even the one they give for free doesn't seem half-hearted.

*Tip: before adding the ramyeon noodles, ask for the seasoning paste and add it. It tastes even better.

Verdict: is Cheongwon Restaurant in Dujeong-dong worth a return visit?

Proof that we're a regular couple🙆 Cheongwon Restaurant Dujeong is my favorite budae-jjigae place. Since it opened, I think I've been here alone, with friends, with family and on dates. Other people are happy with it too, it's the best. When I'm on the phone with friends, we even say, "Hey, want to go eat budae-jjigae at Cheongwon?" That's a real local favorite. I hope the owner grows even bigger and opens chain branches soon.
