Cheonan drive café with homemade omija drink and latte: Geurimseu Cafe
In short
Geurimseu Cafe (GRIMS-COFFEE&BAKERY) is a large bakery brunch café at 232 Mijuk 5-gil, Dongnam-gu, Cheonan, Chungnam, that bakes its bread daily and discards it the same day. On a drive toward Gwangdeok, the writer stopped at Geurimseu Cafe for a gorgonzola pizza, a café latte and a homemade omija (five-flavor berry) drink, and liked all three: a rich, smooth latte, pizza dipped in honey and an omija as thick as a dessert. With a spacious interior, pets allowed and toys for young children, Geurimseu Cafe is a Cheonan brunch café worth revisiting for a family or dog outing.

A tour of a big Cheonan café! Geurimseu Cafe (그림스카페), where the space and the food are both picture-perfect

Hey everyone, have you ever thought on a weekend or day off, "I want to sit somewhere open and pretty, have tasty brunch and a coffee, and just heal~"? I think that every day. (Pretty much every day is healing-mileage day for me...)
Not long ago I went for a drive toward Gwangdeok in Cheonan and stumbled on a brunch café whose name alone oozes charm: Geurimseu Cafe (그림스카페, GRIMS-COFFEE&BAKERY). It really lives up to its name.

It felt like stepping right into a lush green painting, and it's not just the space that's pretty: the bread, the brunch and the coffee all hit together as a perfect trio. I rushed to open my laptop to tell you about it.
Where is Geurimseu Cafe, what are the hours, and are pets allowed?
Geurimseu Cafe is at 232 Mijuk 5-gil, Dongnam-gu, Cheonan, Chungnam, and it's open daily 10:00–21:30. Pets are welcome too. Punch the address into your navigation and the airy building typical of a large café will catch your eye.

Is the bread baked daily? Made and discarded the same day
The café's promotional sign proudly states that its bread is made daily, with a policy of same-day production and same-day disposal. The savory smell of baking hit me the moment I walked in, and I was already dizzy.
Honestly, some big cafes look pretty but have dry, crumbly bread, and that's disappointing, right? But Geurimseu Cafe, already well known by word of mouth as a Cheonan bakery, seemed very firm in its philosophy about bread. Discarding it the same day must mean it's baked fresh and with care every morning, right? My bread-lover radar switched on.

What did we order for brunch at Geurimseu Cafe?
For brunch at Geurimseu Cafe I ordered gorgonzola pizza, a café latte and an omija ade (a drink made from omija, the five-flavor berry). Food first, sightseeing later, as they say, since you only notice a pretty café once your stomach is full. (That I stood frozen in front of the menu for ages is a secret...)

I let out an admiring sound every time a dish arrived, and I was so happy because every single thing I ordered was a hit!

The café latte that steals coffee lovers' hearts
The café latte at Geurimseu Cafe was rich and smooth, with a good balance of bittersweet coffee and nutty milk. It was the item I was looking forward to most, and wow, this latte is the real deal. My eyes popped open at the first sip. A latte can be this smooth and nutty...?
I absolutely hate watery lattes, and this one was truly rich and smooth, so I'd recommend it without hesitation to coffee lovers. If you come to Geurimseu Cafe, the latte is a must, everyone.
The sweet-and-salty classic: gorgonzola pizza dipped in honey
The gorgonzola pizza at Geurimseu Cafe is the main dish, served fresh from the oven with honey on the side for dipping. The cheese stretched piping hot, and the look of it alone already passed.
Dip it in the sweet honey and take a big bite... you know, right? The salty cheese and sweet honey tap-dance in your mouth! As befits a Cheonan brunch hotspot, the dough was chewy and mild, so I kept going without getting tired of it.
Homemade omija, rich and cold like a dessert
The omija at Geurimseu Cafe wasn't just a lazy splash of syrup. It was made in-house, so it was rich and sweet. A refreshing omija drink as a palate cleanser and it's a reset, ready to start again.
It was so rich and sweet it felt almost like eating a fancy dessert. Gulp it down cold and all the built-up stress just flies away, you know?

Is Geurimseu Cafe good for group gatherings or family meals?
Geurimseu Cafe has a spacious interior with high ceilings and open floor-to-ceiling windows, and seats suited to groups are set up all around, so it suits family meals and group get-togethers. Only after I'd filled my belly did the interior really come into view. (People really do get kinder once they're full.)

True to a big Cheonan café, the space is really large and wide! The high ceiling and open windows meant it didn't feel stuffy at all. The tables are spaced generously, so you can spend time just for yourselves without being disturbed by the conversation next to you.
The space is so large that a family weekend meal or a group gathering would be no problem. There really were comfy seats for groups all around. On top of that, the staff were bright and kind even while busy, so I felt looked after throughout the meal and was in a great mood.
A healing place with your doggo: Geurimseu Cafe
One big plus of Geurimseu Cafe is that pets are allowed! Finding a nice café to take your dog to on a weekend is surprisingly like plucking a star from the sky, so being able to spend time with my beloved dog in a space this roomy and pleasant... I vowed to bring my little cutie next time.
Verdict: looking for a comfortable Cheonan brunch café with great atmosphere?
Geurimseu Cafe is a place where you get tasty brunch, quality bakery items and a life-changing latte. If you're looking for a Cheonan brunch café or bakery that nails taste, atmosphere and friendliness, I'd recommend Geurimseu Cafe without hesitation.
When you want to escape the stuffy city and heal among lush greenery with good food, how about a drive-and-brunch outing to Geurimseu Cafe this weekend with family, friends, a partner or your precious pet? I'm planning to go again soon for the latte and stamp my attendance card!
