Mapo wood-fired pizza comparison: Pizzeria O Hapjeong Station

In short

Pizzeria O Hapjeong Station is a wood-fired pizza restaurant 181 m from Exit 2 of Hapjeong Station in Mapo, Seoul. I reserved a weekday lunch and compared the Stella and Buratina pizzas; the prosciutto and arugula pairing and the moist tomato sauce stood out, while the chewy dough held up to the crust. It filled up quickly at lunchtime, and there is no dedicated parking.

How did the Stella and Buratina pizzas differ?

What comes on the star-shaped Stella pizza?

Stella is a star-shaped pizza. It was topped with arugula, cherry tomatoes, prosciutto, and Parmigiano cheese, so its shape and toppings caught my eye first.

When I tried it, I liked how the arugula, Parmigiano cheese, and prosciutto came together. The combination of ingredients had a distinctive, unfamiliar flavor.

How were the sauce and dough on the Buratina pizza?

The Buratina was a pizza with tomato sauce, buffalo mozzarella, and burrata. It had plenty of tomato sauce, which gave it a pleasant moist texture, and the burrata added a nutty richness.

Both pizzas had chewy dough. What stayed with me most was that the dough remained chewy right through the crust.

How was it for a date or gathering?

The atmosphere was comfortable and the staff were kind, which made the meal enjoyable. The two pizzas tasted different, so it was fun to compare them together. Still, it filled up quickly even at weekday lunch, and the lack of dedicated parking is worth considering when planning a visit.
