Mapo, Seoul wood-fired pizza for birthdays: Pizzeria O Hapjeong Station
In short
Pizzeria O Hapjeong Station is a wood-fired pizza restaurant a 3–5-minute walk from Hapjeong Station Exit 2 in Mapo, Seoul. I shared two pizzas and two pastas with friends for my birthday; the chewy crust and distinct toppings stood out, though the arrabbiata was definitely spicy.

How close is it to Hapjeong Station, and is parking available?
Pizzeria O Hapjeong Station (핏제리아오 합정역점) is about 181 m from Hapjeong Station Exit 2, or roughly a 3–5-minute walk. Its address is 14-5 Yanghwa-ro 11-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul, South Korea, on the first floor.
There is no dedicated parking, and the restaurant recommends using nearby paid parking. Information posted during my visit said that Homeplus paid parking inside Mecenatpolis offered the first 30 minutes free.

The hours listed in the original post were 11:00–21:30 from Tuesday through Sunday, with Mondays closed regularly. The posted Tuesday–Friday break time was 15:00–17:00, and last orders were listed as 20:30.
It is tucked into an alley, but the mint-colored exterior and gold sign made it easy enough to spot.

A full menu was displayed in front, so I could check the pizza, salad, and pasta options before going in.

What was the atmosphere like for a birthday meal with friends?
Once inside, the restaurant felt longer and more spacious than it had from outside. White walls, green tiles, and patterned flooring came together beneath a chandelier. It had a European-restaurant feel, so it also seemed suitable for a date meal.
There were tables for two as well as seats suitable for larger groups, and several diners were eating when I visited.

I visited with friends for my birthday. The flowers and cake they gave me suited the bright interior, and I was happy with it as a meal for a special occasion too.
One wall said the restaurant had won first place at the 2019 Pizza World Cup in Rome, Italy. Seeing the award notice at the restaurant made me more curious about the pizza. The area in front of the kitchen also looked tidy, and the restroom was inside, so there was no need to go outside. It was clean and well maintained during my visit.
What can a group share at this Mapo pizza restaurant?
The pizza selection ranged from classics such as Margherita to Quattro Funghi, 'nduja, and prosciutto rucola. There were also several pastas, making it easy to choose and share according to everyone’s tastes. We ordered two pizzas and two pastas.

How do you eat the dough-covered arrabbiata?
The arrabbiata arrived with its entire bowl covered in wood-fired dough. A staff member cut it open at the table, and I found it fun that the restaurant used its wood-fired dough for pasta too.

Inside were tomatoes, short pasta, and cheese. The tomato flavor came with a definite spiciness, while the cheese added savoriness. I also liked tearing off pieces of the dough cover and dipping them in the sauce.

The whole-tomato flavor and heat worked well as something to have between slices of pizza. Still, I found it fairly spicy and intense too.
Did the aglio e olio pair well with the arrabbiata?
The aglio e olio had plenty of garlic, with cherry tomatoes and arugula on top. I could taste the garlic aroma and nutty flavor, but it did not feel too heavy or greasy.

The noodles had a slight al dente bite. Compared with the spicy arrabbiata, it was mild, so I liked ordering the two together.
How did the Quattro Funghi and Burratina pizzas differ?
The Quattro Funghi had such generous toppings that mushrooms covered the center, with plenty of cheese over them. The aroma of wood-fired mushrooms and the rich cheese went well together, which suited my love of mushrooms.

The crust was puffed around the edge. It showed marks from the wood-fired oven on the outside; the inside was chewy, while the edge felt soft and fluffy.
The Burratina had tomato sauce, cheese, and basil, with a whole burrata in the middle. We split the cheese open and shared it over individual slices.

The burrata’s soft, nutty flavor went well with the tangy tomato sauce. The Quattro Funghi was rich with mushroom aroma and savoriness, while I remembered the Burratina for the freshness of tomato and softness of cheese. Their different flavors made the two pies easy to share.

What menu item stood out most from the birthday meal?
I liked the pizza’s chewy dough and subtle smoky aroma, with the generously mushroom-topped Quattro Funghi especially suited to my taste. Among the pastas, the arrabbiata that I opened through the dough cover was memorable. Its heat was definite, so I was also happy to have the mild aglio e olio alongside it.
Its proximity to the station and seating for groups made it easy to share dishes with friends. Receiving flowers and cake and eating in the bright dining room remains a good birthday memory for me.
