The Texas Platter that followed was packed from the start. The brisket was deeply infused with oak smoke and full of flavor, and the pulled pork was so tender you hardly needed to chew.

We split the included dinner rolls in half, piled on pulled pork or brisket, and topped them with fresh coleslaw to make little burgers. It tasted like something new!

Crispy fries, chicken wings, and a variety of sauces came along too, so picking and mixing was a lot of fun.

Verdict: a family revisit worth making

The meat quality was excellent and it paired well with the pasta, so even though it was a late lunch, the whole family left full and satisfied.

Next time, I plan to reserve ahead to get a garden seat and add the lobster I've been wanting to try, to enjoy it properly.
