Solo brunch café in Yangju: shrimp oil pasta, cutlet salad, Doasis
In short
Doasis is a large bakery café in Deokjeong-dong, Yangju, set in a former bathhouse remodeled into a botanical-garden space full of palm trees. The writer, who had only ever ordered bread and coffee at Doasis, came alone on a weekday afternoon for a brunch of shrimp oil pasta, pork cutlet salad and garlic baguette. Doasis turned out to be just as good for a proper meal as for bread, and the spicy shrimp oil pasta was the standout.

Solo brunch at Doasis: how was it?
This time I had brunch alone at Doasis, the big café in Deokjeong-dong, Yangju. No matter how many times I come, the atmosphere gets full marks..! It's near my home, so I've dropped by for a long time, but I always stuck to bread or coffee, so this time I took it slow and enjoyed a leisurely brunch.

Doasis's salt bread is delicious too and I meant to get it, but sadly it was sold out that day T_T Instead I smartly picked up some garlic baguette, but in the end the pasta was what I remembered most, lol

Doasis location, parking and opening hours
Doasis is at 25-5 Hwahap-ro 1402beon-gil, Yangju-si, Gyeonggi-do, on the 2nd and 3rd floors. It's fairly close to Deokjeong Station, so it's fine to reach by public transport, and it's not far from my home, so I stop by often.

- Parking: Private lot in front of the café. The lot itself is so spacious that even new drivers can park without much stress!
- Hours: Daily 10:00–23:00
- Last order: 22:00 (3rd floor open until 21:00)
From bathhouse to botanical garden café: the space at Doasis
Doasis is a large café remodeled from an old bathhouse building, and the space itself has impressed me since my very first visit.

At first I thought, "A bathhouse as a café...? Really?" haha

They kept the feel of the original structure and placed big palm trees and plants all around, so it really has the botanical garden vibe I love.

We often came to Doasis early in our relationship too, and I remember my husband, who loves photos, taking tons of pictures of me here haha

The place is so big and has so many kinds of seats that it has that not-stuffy feel big cafés have, which I like.
Is the brunch menu at Doasis bakery café any good?
Doasis was fine to come to for brunch. It's a bakery café, so I honestly didn't expect much from the brunch menu, but the pasta was a real surprise.

Shrimp oil pasta: the pick of the day
Doasis's shrimp oil pasta isn't fully spicy, just pleasantly hot, with almost none of the greasiness oil pasta usually has and the savory depth nicely alive. The shrimp were plump, and even I, who normally don't like squid much, enjoyed it for its chewy texture. (I wanted to learn the recipe, lol) My pick of the day is definitely the pasta!
Pork cutlet salad: served separately, easy to share with kids
I liked that the pork cutlet salad comes with the cutlet and salad served separately. You can eat them apart or together, so it seems easy to order when visiting with a child!

The cutlet itself was decent, but bigger than I expected, so I left a few pieces. I ended up taking them home and putting them in the air fryer the next day, lol

Garlic baguette: great with coffee the next morning
Doasis's garlic baguette was sweet but not too overpowering, with a plain, mellow side too, so it was tastier than I expected haha I took the leftovers home and warmed them briefly in the air fryer the next morning, and with coffee it was a perfect match!

There's such a wide variety of baked goods that people looking for a Yangju bakery café should have fun browsing.

Decaf coffee: nutty, with no acidity
The decaf Americano ("Amerino" on the menu) used nutty beans with no acidity, and the portion was generous enough to drink throughout the brunch.
Weekday or weekend: when to visit Doasis
For a relaxed time alone, a weekday afternoon was best at Doasis. I came on a weekday afternoon on purpose and it was definitely nice and unhurried. When I came on a weekend before, there were lots of families and kids and it felt a bit crowded.

On weekdays, by contrast, there weren't many customers and it was quiet, and since the café is so big, sound doesn't echo or feel noisy, which I liked.

The floor seating at Doasis also has power outlets, so it looked fine for bringing a laptop and spending time.

They also seem to offer small wedding rental, so anyone interested might want to look into it!

What would I order again at Doasis brunch?
I've already visited Doasis, the big Yangju café, many times, but having a proper brunch for the first time, I found it's fine to come for a meal, not just bread.

The spicy shrimp oil pasta especially is something I'd order again next time! If you're looking for a Yangju brunch café where you can eat a relaxed meal in a wide, green space, give it a look :)
