Ulsan bakery café after Eonyang bulgogi: injeolmi cream bun at MUG
In short
MUG (카페 먹) is a large bakery café at 90 Hyangsandagae-ro in Sangbuk-myeon, Ulju-gun, Ulsan, in the Eonyang area. After eating Eonyang bulgogi nearby, the writer stopped at MUG and tried an injeolmi cream bun (a bun dusted with roasted soybean powder), a Basque cheesecake, an iced americano, a blueberry yogurt smoothie and a chocolate latte. With a large parking lot, a gallery, pet-friendly outdoor seats and a wide range of constantly restocked bread, MUG is a relaxing Eonyang café for families.

I recently visited MUG (카페 먹), a big café in Ulju, Ulsan. We had Eonyang bulgogi (thinly sliced marinated beef) nearby and then popped over for dessert, haha. MUG is a large bakery café, so there was a huge range of both drinks and breads. The atmosphere is nice and relaxing for a big café. Shall we look at the review together?
Where is MUG and what are its hours?
MUG is at 90 Hyangsandagae-ro, Sangbuk-myeon, Ulju-gun, Ulsan, and it is open daily from 10:00 to 20:00.
Is parking easy at MUG?
MUG sits on a quiet country road, and when you drive up with your GPS, a really huge parking lot appears right away! It's clearly far from the city center, so it seemed like most people came by car.

The café itself is also very spacious, with a nature-friendly feel.

So many parking spaces, right? We came after lunch and it was really crowded. By 2–3 p.m. people kept arriving and even the outdoor tables filled up.
Inside MUG and the outdoor seating
The entrance area is a gallery, so it was nice to look around. Maybe because this large Ulsan café has something to see, there were lots of families who had brought their elders.

I took photos of both the inside and the outside!

Is MUG pet-friendly?
Pets are welcome at MUG, but only at the outdoor seats. Inside, the seating runs long and deep, and outside, the seats extend up the hillside path. Most of the outdoor tables were taken by guests who had brought their dogs.
MUG menu and bakery selection
Here's the menu board. MUG has quite a lot of drinks, and we ordered a good mix!

Now for the bakery photos! There were lots of cake slices too, so I think kids would love it.

There's everything from classic red bean bread that older people like to trendy bakery items. The signature roll topped with chocolate and orange also looked really delicious.

I also spotted pizza bread and mocha bread, so there are really a lot of choices!

What time should you go for the most bread?
In the early afternoon when I visited, MUG had a wide variety of breads! So many people came that the bread sold out really fast, but it kept getting restocked, haha. Still, if you go later, I think there may not be many kinds left :(
How are the injeolmi cream bun and Basque cheesecake?
For dessert at MUG we picked an injeolmi (roasted soybean powder rice cake) cream bun and a Basque cheesecake! Both were big portions and looked so good that we just grabbed them, haha.

The Basque cheesecake was dense with a soft inside and a deep flavor. I expected it to be very sweet, but it was surprisingly soft with a rich taste, and it went well with sweet drinks too.
Next, the injeolmi cream bun was full of cream, and you could taste a deep injeolmi flavor too. The bread itself is soft, and with the soft cream inside, it just melted in my mouth.
MUG drinks: iced americano, blueberry yogurt smoothie, chocolate latte
Here are our drinks! Don't they look great? Haha

The iced americano at MUG had moderate acidity and went really well with the bakery items. The blueberry yogurt smoothie was sweet and easy to drink!
Lastly, the chocolate latte, topped with whipped cream, was powerfully sweet, haha. It felt a little too much to have with baked goods, but it was really good on its own!
Is MUG worth a return visit?
MUG, the large café I visited as a place worth seeing in Ulsan, has a nice atmosphere and a comfortable space. Pets can come too, so it's great for the whole family to unwind together. Personally, the bread was really good, and next time I want to try even more kinds!
