Uijeongbu café: chocolate and matcha Basque with omija ade at Forerest

This time I visited Forerest, a large café in Uijeongbu where you can really feel nature.🍀 It sits in the mountains, so the moment I arrived it had a relaxed vibe that's totally different from the city!! The cake and coffee were great, and I loved the scenery around it too, which is why Forerest really won me over.

You reach Forerest by following Nogyang-ro in Uijeongbu, and it's surrounded by mountains and trees, so the atmosphere felt special even before I arrived!

Green scenery spreads out around the building, so it felt like I was on a trip!

The exterior blends in nicely with nature, so it was great for taking photos. It's quite big too, so it was fun to park and slowly look around.

What are the indoor and terrace seats at Forerest like?

Inside Forerest there's lots of wide, relaxed space!! It's divided into several areas, so you can pick a seat with the mood you want! Big windows show the trees and scenery outside, so you feel close to nature even indoors.

My favorite was the terrace! On a nice day, drinking coffee outside seems even better than sitting indoors~ Looking at the mountain and trees felt so relaxing and lovely ☺️

First up, the chocolate Basque cheesecake that Forerest is said to be famous for~!!

The outside has the deep browned color Basque cheesecake is known for, and the inside is dense yet soft! Not too sweet, and so thick and fudgy..😗

The deep, rich chocolate flavor blends with the nutty cheese and it was even richer than I expected!

How does the matcha Basque cheesecake taste?

The matcha Basque cheesecake! It had matcha's signature bitter, subtle aroma~

It's not just sweet; the bitterness of the matcha balances the heaviness of the cheese, so it has a totally different charm from the chocolate one😋

Both the chocolate and matcha Basque cheesecakes have a moist, dense center, so every bite fills your whole mouth!! Having tried them, I get why Forerest is famous for cake😌 Recommended for anyone who likes rich, heavy Basque cheesecake!

Which drinks go well with Basque cheesecake?

For coffee I ordered an iced americano and a vanilla latte, and with the cake, coffee really is a must.

The iced americano was clean and easy to drink, and the vanilla latte had a gentle sweetness that went nicely with the cake🌞

I was craving something refreshing, so I ordered the omija ade, and it looked so pretty too.

The omija ade's signature sweet-and-sour taste freshened up my mouth, so it was perfect for sipping after the rich cheesecake.

Is Forerest good for a date or a drive?

Above all, Forerest felt less like a place where you just grab coffee and dessert and leave, and more like a café where you enjoy the space itself, haha

The forest view from indoors is pretty~ and on the terrace you feel the fresh air and nature directly, so it was lovely to linger.

Tasty cake, a cup of coffee and nature all together made Forerest perfect for a change of mood! If you've been looking for a dessert café with a great atmosphere in Uijeongbu, it's worth a visit. It's especially good as an Uijeongbu date spot when you want to spend relaxed time in nature, and it also suits a drive, enjoying the scenery on the way.
