Yu Yu Yu in Gimhae: a rainy-evening return to the big mountain-view café

Yu Yu Yu is a large bakery café at 450 Inje-ro, 1F-2F, Gimhae-si, Gyeongsangnam-do. It's open 08:00-22:00 on weekdays and 10:00-22:00 on weekends, with last order at 21:30. Hours can change on holidays, so it's worth checking Naver hours first.

Hi everyone :) Today I revisited a Gimhae café I'd been to before — Yu Yu Yu. Last time I went on a cloudy day, and this time it was raining again.

This big Gimhae café has its own dedicated parking lot right out front, and it's spacious enough that you never have to worry about finding a spot.

It rained a little on the day I went, and by evening it got so atmospheric and lovely, haha.

What bread does Yu Yu Yu bake? Salt bread, financiers and tigre

The moment you walk in you see the tempting bakery case... it seemed even more varied than the last time I visited.

From sandwiches to salt bread, financiers, croissants and tigre, there was a huge variety of baked goods. The sandwiches looked so good, but I was already too full that day, so I told myself — let's go for the smaller baked items! I picked a tigre and an egg tart, haha.

There's also Basque cheesecake and egg tart. One thing I really love about Yu Yu Yu's bakery section is that everything is kept covered so bugs and dust can't get in. I've actually seen fruit flies swarming bakery counters at other cafés before, so this careful covering was such a relief.

Bread packaging and takeout perks at Yu Yu Yu

If you buy ₩30,000 or more of bread, packaging is free. Paper bags or plastic bags come at no extra charge (no charging for bag fees is such a nice touch). There's also a variety of packaging options — lunchbox-style containers, paper boxes, handled paper boxes — great for gifting desserts. They also have fresh fruit juices and signature menu items, plus a drink discount when you take out.

Where to sit: dogs on the first floor, mountain views on the second

This Gimhae café has two floors. The 1st floor has outdoor terrace seats, group tables, and regular seating. With group tables available, it would make a great meetup spot.

The 1st floor outdoor seats look softly pretty at night and lush green in daytime. With the weather cooling down lately, sitting outside felt really nice.

Since this is a dog-friendly café in Gimhae, if you're visiting with your dog, use the 1st floor — they even have dog cushions ready.

The mountain view is even better from the 2nd floor, and there's more seating than downstairs too. The window seats are always the hot spot. Both times I visited, I got lucky and landed a window seat. On this particular day it was raining, which made it extra atmospheric.

Yuja (citron) slush and decaf americano

We ordered a yuja (citron) slush, decaf americano, choco tigre, and egg tart.

There are plenty of smoothies around, but it's been a while since I found a place that actually serves slush. We love slush drinks so this was a happy surprise. It seemed generously packed with yuja too — refreshing and really tasty. Since we were ordering sweet dessert too, I got a hot americano this time. Caffeine in the evening usually wrecks my sleep, so having a decaf option was great. The coffee itself had a nice, nutty flavor too.

How do Yu Yu Yu's egg tart and choco tigre taste?

The desserts at this dog-friendly Gimhae café were really excellent. I skipped dessert last time because I was too full, but after trying these, I already know I need to come back just for dessert next time.

I genuinely love egg tart, and whenever a café has one, I pretty much always try it — this one's a win. The pastry shell wasn't too thick and was packed full of egg filling inside, with zero eggy fishiness and a deep, strong vanilla flavor.

And this tigre... the salt on top is the real kicker. Sweet and salty together, and the chocolate was rich, almost ganache-like — not the cheap-tasting kind. The chocolate filling was generous, and it paired amazingly with the warm coffee.

The second-floor self-serve bar and the cookie stamp card

There's a self-serve bar on the 2nd floor with napkins, water, and sugar, so no need to go all the way down to the 1st floor. They also keep blankets nearby in case the AC gets too cold. The owner has great attention to detail.

They also hand out a card with your order — a way to collect a handmade chocolate chip cookie! Participate and take one home (this place is a dessert hotspot, so if you have time, definitely join in, haha). The staff were all kind too, and this large dog-friendly Gimhae café is a strong recommendation if you're looking for a café with great dessert in Gimhae!
