Seongsu Korean restaurant, beef seaweed soup set: Dwaeji Gomtang House
In short
Dwaeji Gomtang House Musinsa Mega Store Branch is a Korean gomtang (slow-simmered pork broth soup) and gukbap restaurant in the 4th-floor food court of Musinsa Mega Store in Seongsu-dong, Seongdong-gu, Seoul. After browsing the 1st-floor pop-up, the writer ordered the House seaweed soup set (17,000 won), generously filled with beef and potato, along with dried radish with herring roe and minari and hijiki giant dumplings, and it came with barley rice and orange slices for dessert. Dwaeji Gomtang House is a good place for a warm, filling meal without leaving your Seongsu shopping route.

Where to eat while shopping at Musinsa in Seongsu?
I had a hearty meal before shopping at Dwaeji Gomtang House Musinsa Mega Store Branch (돼지공탕 하우 무신사메가스토어점), in the 4th-floor food court of the Musinsa Mega Store in Seongsu. These days there's so much to see in Seongsu, and so many pop-up stores, that you end up wandering all day. I got ready early this morning and headed out, and sure enough, after a little walking I started getting hungry.

That day I went into Musinsa and browsed the store first. A pop-up store happened to be running on the 1st floor, so I looked around and took part in it, then went up to the 4th floor where the restaurants are.

I figured I should eat a solid meal before even starting to shop, and the place I went to was Dwaeji Gomtang House Musinsa Mega Store Branch.

It's inside the Musinsa Mega Store, so it was easy to find, and best of all it fits nicely into a shopping route.

After joining a pop-up and looking at this and that, I got even hungrier, so maybe that's why I felt oddly excited the moment I reached the 4th floor, thinking about lunch.

What's the Musinsa Mega Store 4F food court like?
The 4th-floor food court has green interiors, a clean space, and Seongsu views from the window side. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was how clean the place is! The all-green decor caught my eye, and it matches Seongsu's particular vibe while feeling more relaxing than I expected. And since it's on the 4th floor, I loved how openly you can see the Seongsu scenery from the window seats.

Dwaeji Gomtang House menu and prices
The sets at Dwaeji Gomtang House run ₩15,000 to ₩17,000, and side dishes start at ₩5,000.
- Clear gomtang (pork bone soup) set ₩15,000
- Spicy gomtang set ₩16,000
- Hau seaweed soup set ₩17,000
- Herring roe dried radish ₩5,000
- Minari tot dumplings, 3 pcs ₩9,000
- Cold seasoned pork platter ₩29,000

When you think of a typical gukbap (soup with rice) place, you might picture something cramped or dark, but Dwaeji Gomtang House is clean and bright, and you can eat while looking out at Seongsu, which I liked even more.

How was the Hau seaweed soup set?
What I ordered that day was the Hau seaweed soup set (₩17,000), loaded with beef and potatoes. After walking around since morning, I wanted a warm, soupy meal rather than something strong and spicy, and the seaweed soup set was just right. The warm miyeok-guk (seaweed soup) has plenty of beef and potato, so even sipping just the broth felt hearty!

The potatoes were soft and crumbly, so they had a great texture together with the beef. I was hungry from moving around since morning, and after the first spoonful of warm broth my stomach felt settled. I also liked that it came with barley rice, not just plain white rice.

Are the herring roe radish and minari tot dumplings worth adding?
With the seaweed soup set, I also ordered herring roe dried radish (₩5,000) and minari tot dumplings (₩9,000). It felt a shame to have only the seaweed soup set, so we added sides: dried radish with herring roe, and dumplings with minari (water dropwort) and tot (a seaweed). Putting them together made the table quite generous.

The dried radish with herring roe felt a bit different from ordinary seasoned dried radish, and it went well with rice. The crunchy radish plus the popping texture of the herring roe made me keep reaching for it, a spoon of rice, then a bit of banchan (side dish) on top.

I was curious about the minari dumplings too, so I ordered them. They had minari's distinctive fragrant note, a different charm from regular dumplings. If you like dumplings, they'd be a nice add-on to a meal.

Why I recommend Dwaeji Gomtang House as a meal while shopping
They even served a slice of orange for dessert, so it was a really, truly perfect meal! When you get tired from shopping it's hard to go somewhere else, so getting shopping and a meal done in one place was great. I think Musinsa did a really good job with this food court, and Dwaeji Gomtang House Musinsa Mega Store Branch was the best of them.
