Jamsil jazz restaurant date: garlic cream pork and vongole, Allegro
In short
Allegro is a live jazz Italian restaurant on the 3rd floor of a building on Ollimpik-ro 32-gil in Songpa, Seoul. After booking through Catch Table, we ordered vongole (20,000 won) and a sous vide pork neck steak (33,000 won) while watching a guitar, double bass and drum set, and the sous vide pork neck with garlic cream sauce was the best dish. As a first dinner with live jazz, Allegro is a spot worth recommending in Jamsil for an anniversary or a special date.

What kind of restaurant is Allegro in Jamsil?
Allegro is a jazz restaurant in the Jamsil and Songpa area where you can eat Italian food while watching live jazz. I was looking for a nice date spot and wanted something a little different from the usual, so I came here. The food was good and the show had a great vibe, so I was happy with it.

Allegro reservations, closing day and interior
Allegro is on the 3rd floor, and I booked ahead on Catch Table. I could also check the October jazz lineup. Note that it is closed every Tuesday!
Round tables sit under soft lighting, and one side has a stage for the jazz performances. The stage was set up with drums, a piano, microphones and other instruments. Each table also had a small lamp, which made the mood even better. I especially liked that you can look at the stage while you eat~!
Allegro jazz show times and show fee
Allegro runs two live jazz sets a day. The show fee is ₩10,000 per person on weekdays and ₩15,000 on Fridays and Saturdays, charged separately from the food, and it is one menu item per person, so keep that in mind.

What we ordered at Allegro and the prices
At Allegro we ordered the vongole for ₩20,000 and the sous vide pork neck steak for ₩33,000. You can check the menu and order easily on the tablet at your table.

Also, the innermost window seats at Allegro have a view of Lotte Tower.

Please see the photos above for the menu.

Free bread before the meal at Allegro
Allegro brought out free starter bread after we ordered. It came as two golden toasted slices.

It was slightly crisp outside and fluffy inside. Plain and nutty, it was a nice light bite before the meal.

How does Allegro's vongole pasta taste?
Allegro's vongole pasta (₩20,000) was a light oil pasta that blended the cool, savory flavor of clams with the nutty richness of olive oil. It came on a big plate, generously loaded with manila clams.

The noodles were curled in the middle with parsley on top, so the plating looked appetizing too. The vongole balanced the clams' cool savoriness with the nutty olive oil.

I especially liked how the salty savoriness from the clams had soaked into the sauce.

The noodles were nicely springy and chewy, and the oil flavor came through subtly. It was clean and not heavy like cream or tomato sauce, so it was easy to eat.

Allegro's sous vide pork neck steak with garlic cream sauce
Personally, my favorite dish at Allegro was the sous vide pork neck steak (₩33,000). A thick pork neck steak came with fries and cream sauce.
The outside was seared an appetizing golden brown, and when I cut into it, the inside was juicy. Maybe because it is cooked sous vide, the texture was more tender than a typical pork neck steak!!!

The garlic cream sauce served with it was really good! The sharp, nutty garlic flavor was softened by the cream, and a salty touch brought out the overall savoriness.

It was not too greasy or heavy, and the garlic aroma and creamy richness were balanced, so it went really well with the meat. Dipping the pork generously in the sauce added a rich garlic cream flavor to the juicy meat, even better. Dipping the fries in the sauce too was a real treat haha
What was the live jazz at Allegro like?
While we were enjoying the meal, the jazz show we had been waiting for began. That day we got to see live music with guitar, contrabass and drums. The melodies and rhythms the instruments traded back and forth were really appealing.
The heavy low notes of the contrabass and the soft guitar melody blended together, and I could really feel that special jazz atmosphere.

Watching up close made it more vivid, and enjoying music with the food made an ordinary dinner feel special. It was my first meal with jazz, so it felt novel, and I think it would definitely be great for a special anniversary or important day with a partner or friends.
