We went to Hyeopjae Beach for a swim. But first, we had to eat, of course haha. When you come to Jeju, you come for black pork and hairtail, right? LOL. So we had braised hairtail at this Jeju restaurant with both a great view and great food.

While stopping by Hyeopjae Beach, I looked up somewhere good to eat nearby. And there was a fantastic braised hairtail spot right in front of the beach!!!! After such a delicious meal, I liked it even more because it was such good value. Onjeong Jorim Hyeopjae Branch is right near Hyeopjae Beach, so it is great for dropping in after looking around the sea. Parking was convenient too, since you can use the Hyeopjae Beach public parking lot in front of the restaurant.

Once inside, the space was roomy and comfortable. It was neat overall, with lots of warm wood tones that made it feel cozy too. Best of all, the window seats come with a view of the Hyeopjae sea. My friend was making a huge fuss about how pretty the view was LOL. An amazing view and delicious food—who could resist that combo?

Onjeong Jorim Hyeopjae Branch also has a self-service bar, so it is easy to help yourself to more banchan (Korean side dishes), haha.

The braised hairtail is available from two servings, so we properly ordered two. Onjeong Jorim Hyeopjae Branch says it uses only Jeju silver hairtail for a deep flavor. It is also close to the Jeju Hallim Fisheries Cooperative, and they say fresh fish arrives every day—so naturally, my excitement for the stew went way up!!!

It came out after about 15 minutes, and the moment it arrived, the visual was so good!! The bright red sauce really got my appetite going. What I liked most was the portion and spread for the price, hehe.

There was so much hairtail meat, and picking it off the bone was really satisfying. Usually, braised hairtail in Jeju is expensive... and the portion is small, which is sad. But Onjeong Jorim Hyeopjae Branch gives you plenty, so the value is seriously crazy good!!! The radish in the stew was soaked through with sauce too, so one piece of hairtail with one piece of radish made for a completely full bite.

And the sauce was not overpowering—it was clean with a deep flavor, making it perfect with rice. This was such a good-value Jeju braised hairtail meal.
