Aewol, Jeju photo studio for family maternity photos: Eoeum-ri

We took a trip to Jeju for a babymoon, and since we wanted to make some photo memories with our first child, we visited Eoeum-ri Photo Studio (어음리 사진관) in Aewol. One specialist photographer personally took care of everything, from the shoot through editing, so we were really happy with it. It was especially convenient because it was close to where we were staying.

About Eoeum-ri Photo Studio

After the typhoon the day before, it was very windy, so I worried whether we would even be able to take photos that day. Thankfully, the wind was not too strong and we got through the shoot without any trouble! The sky was cloudy and overcast, so I also worried about how the photos would turn out, but the photographer said slightly overcast weather photographs better than overly strong sunshine. Eoeum-ri Photo Studio is in Aewol-eup and has the feel of a traditional Jeju stone-wall home.

Snap shots and a self-shoot with our child

We decided to take snap shots with our four-year-old first child. We chose the package with three snap shots and 20 minutes of self-shooting. When we entered the studio, there were so many charming little props inside.

This is the self-shoot area. A variety of props are ready so you can take photos to suit the concept each of you has in mind.

Since this is Jeju, there were Jeju-style props too, along with flower props, so I think you could even create the feel of a self-shot wedding shoot. We wanted a maternity-photo feel, so we took photos holding a baby garland.

Self-shooting with a phone

For the self-shoot, there is a phone stand like this, and you can take photos easily with a wireless button. The photographer sets up the composition and equipment personally, so you can take photos without them looking like a self-shoot. There is also a large mirror in front of the stand, so you can check how the photo will look on your phone camera.

3 outdoor snap shots + 20-minute self-shoot

Although it is shot indoors, the bright lighting meant the photos came out really well. For a recommended self-shoot composition, place a chair in the center, have your child sit on it, and have Mom and Dad stand on either side—it turns out so beautifully.

Our first child loves horses, so we put a hat on and took photos! There are lots of props children will like, too. There are props children can sit on, including a tractor, bicycle, and horse, so our child had fun the whole time we were self-shooting.

Outdoor snap shots among Jeju stone walls and scenery

The snap shots are taken outdoors, at places that feel thoroughly Jeju! We took photos by stone walls and against Jeju scenery. The photographer showed us each expression and pose one by one, so our child was comfortable during the shoot too.

These are the three shots our family took! We went around three different spots that captured Aewol's pretty scenery. We were so pleased with our family snaps: a warm feeling with our first child, and our second child still in my belly. The photographer created such a relaxed atmosphere that our child's expression came out bright in the photos too.

Editing and prints right after the shoot

The photographer edited the photos right after taking them and printed them for us! While the photographer edited our photos, we happily got on with self-shooting inside the studio. During the 20-minute self-shoot session, we tried different concepts and took so many photos without a moment to rest.

One tip: there is Jejudang Café nearby, as well as a kids' café that children may enjoy, so they would be nice to visit after your photo shoot.
