Siheung bulgogi house with window views and bibim guksu: Bulhyangjip
In short
Bulhyangjip Mulwang Lake Main Branch (불향집 물왕호수본점) is a bulgogi restaurant set slightly uphill at the back of the restaurant alley by Mulwang Lake in Siheung, Gyeonggi. On a weekday I had Bulhyangjip's lunch set (41,800 won for bulgogi for 2, bibim guksu, doenjang jjigae and one bowl of rice) with gochujang bulgogi. The bouquet-like lettuce, the doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) and the bibim guksu (spicy mixed noodles) with kimchi and onion stood out. For a family meal or a date at Mulwang Reservoir, Bulhyangjip is worth a return visit for the bibim guksu alone.

Where is Bulhyangjip Mulwang Lake Main Branch?
Bulhyangjip Mulwang Lake Main Branch sits at 46-2 1F Dongseo-ro 811beon-gil, Siheung-si, Gyeonggi-do, tucked into the inner part of the restaurant alley where all the Mulwang Lake eateries cluster. It's open from 11:00 to 20:00. I was searching for a meat restaurant near Mulwang Lake and found one that satisfies everyone — so off we went!

Bulhyangjip is located deep inside the Mulwang Lake restaurant strip! Being set back and a little elevated also means you get a great view.

Is parking easy at Bulhyangjip?
Bulhyangjip has plenty of parking. Everyone visiting Mulwang Lake restaurants drives, so the ample lot really helps.

This is what a pretty restaurant looks like, honestly. Walking from the parking lot to the entrance already gives you a little moment of charm.
Bulhyangjip's interior and window seats

The inside of Bulhyangjip is big, so seating is plentiful! There are window seats where you can enjoy the outside view through the full-length glass.
What comes in Bulhyangjip's weekday lunch set, and how much is it?

Bulhyangjip's weekday lunch set is ₩41,800 and includes bulgogi for two, bibim guksu (spicy mixed noodles), doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew), and a bowl of rice. We wanted both bulgogi and bibim guksu, so we ordered the lunch set — we visited on a weekday, lucky us! 😉

Bulhyangjip's weekday lunch set, ₩41,800 for bulgogi for 2 + bibim guksu + doenjang jjigae + a bowl of rice — the value is insane. My heart was pounding with anticipation.
Side dishes and lettuce wraps with Bulhyangjip's lunch set

At Bulhyangjip, the side dishes come out first, and honestly you could finish a bowl of rice on those alone. Families come to Mulwang Reservoir a lot, and I think parents especially would love this place and keep coming back!

The vegetables deserve to be talked about. Is this lettuce or a bouquet? You could probably use it for a proposal.
How do you eat Bulhyangjip's gochujang bulgogi?

Bulhyangjip's bulgogi comes already grilled, so you just lightly reheat the sauce. Finally, the main event — bulgogi — arrived. We chose gochujang bulgogi. Since it comes pre-grilled, we were told to just warm the sauce a bit.

Aaah! The perfect wait time for people who can't wait any longer.

While the meat warmed up, they stir-fried it together with shredded scallions.

Even people who don't like scallions could get into them through Bulhyangjip's bulgogi. It's just that good.

Stir-fried and piled on, haha. The lettuce leaves are huge, so make sure you tear them in half — eating them whole just makes you look greedy.

Leave a receipt review at Bulhyangjip and they'll give you a free drink.
How is Bulhyangjip's doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew)?

The doenjang jjigae in Bulhyangjip's lunch set is packed with ingredients and nicely salty, great with rice. The stew arrived! Parents need something like this — 'got rice? got soup?' Yes, we've got it all.

A stew that makes you plow through a bowl of rice in no time. Loaded with ingredients and nicely salty, it paired perfectly with the rice!
Is Bulhyangjip's bibim guksu worth adding?

If you go to Bulhyangjip, make sure you have the bibim guksu (spicy mixed noodles). And now the last dish I want to shout about far and wide — bibim guksu. I totally get why it's included in the set menu. If you're not ordering the set, please, please add bibim guksu. Coming to Bulhyangjip without eating bibim guksu should honestly be illegal. They'd arrest you for real.

Absurdly delicious bibim guksu. I don't even like onions, but the kimchi and onion served with the noodles were so good I scraped the bowl clean. It's also amazing eaten alongside the meat. But honestly the broth is the best part — I feel like I could come back just for the bibim guksu alone. Next time I'll bring my mom!
