CAKE QUALITY GOOD!

What kind of bakery is Tomoru Bakery Ilsan?
Tomoru Bakery Ilsan (토모루베이커리 일산점) is a bakery in the Wicity area of Ilsan, open every day of the year with no break time. It's a famous hotspot in Siksa-dong, especially among housewives. Going by the cake's reputation, I stopped by Tomoru Bakery to prepare my mom's birthday party.
Hours: 09:00–21:00 / 30 minutes FREE parking at the Amano Siksa-dong vacant-lot parking lot

Can you eat in at Tomoru Bakery Ilsan?
Tomoru Bakery does takeout, but it also has an indoor seating area, so it's a true bakery café, which made me even more excited. The first floor is roomy, and even though I went on a weekday, plenty of people were already enjoying brunch, snacks and a good chat over bread and drinks. You can really feel how popular this place is.

Tomoru Bakery breads and the best time to visit
The variety of breads at Tomoru Bakery was enough to make my mouth water. There were even gluten-free items. From garlic bread to the hugely popular salt bread (a buttery roll with a salted base), castella (Korean sponge cake), savory filled breads and campagne, the colorful lineup showed real baking skill and grabbed my attention.

If you go early in the morning you'll see more breads, while after 5 p.m. a lot of that day's bakes are already gone, so keep that in mind when you visit. Classics like angbutter (red bean and butter bread), sandwiches and pizza bread, plus tasty sweet red bean bread, cream bread and soboro bread (streusel-topped bread), also whetted my appetite.

Savory breads, desserts and trending items at Tomoru Bakery
On top of that, Tomoru Bakery's own savory breads and dessert items, with their processing and variations, stirred up a need to conquer them all. Sweet, soft cream desserts like egg tarts are something all the women love. And the cucumber baguette sandwich and salt breads with all kinds of toppings are trends in the baking world these days, so it was nice to see them here too.

The chocolate cornet looked delicious too. With so many idea-packed variations, like chocolate-style croissants for kids who love chocolate, I couldn't take my eyes off them. There were also plenty of seasonal fruit roll cakes, cakes and desserts, so it's fun to visit every season or quarter.

From scones to biscuits and mocha buns, there were baked goods full of butter flavor, plus desserts paired with fruit that looked ready to burst with juice at the first bite. They were more than enough to win over women's hearts.
Which birthday cake did we pick for Mom at Tomoru Bakery?
Today's mission was a cake for Mom's birthday party, and at Tomoru Bakery I chose the fresh dairy cream mango cake, size No. 1, for ₩45,000. Mango and strawberry are both in season right now, too.

The dome cake design is no longer available, so I agonized for a long time between cream and chocolate bases topped with strawberries or mango. That's because my nephew loves chocolate cake.

Still, it was my mother's birthday, so to suit older tastes I picked up the mango cake loaded with fresh dairy cream. ₩45,000 for the No. 1 size is about what everyone charges these days. Tomoru Bakery seemed to keep right on trend in style, taste and value.
They fixed the cake securely in the box so it wouldn't shake and collapse on the way home. Overall the cream quality was high, and with plenty of mango on top, it felt like I'd discovered a genuinely good Ilsan bakery that doesn't skimp on ingredients.
Are Tomoru Bakery's white roll and sandwiches worth trying?
Tomoru Bakery's long white roll, a popular item coated in white fresh cream and castella crumbs, looked truly tempting. There were also lots of sandwiches stuffed with vegetables and more, hearty enough for a meal or brunch, and I wanted them all.

I thought that next time I come, I'll pack up a whole load of these baked goods to take home.
Mom's birthday party with the Tomoru Bakery mango cake
We went to my parents' home and, with the whole family around a full Tomoru Bakery mango cake, blew out the candles and had a happy time. I sincerely hope these moments, which will someday become memories, enrich my life and my family's lives with good recollections.

Tomoru Bakery in Ilsan is already a famous hotspot, so its taste, quality and service spirit can't be praised too much. I have a feeling I'll be coming here often.
