Stroller-friendly Icheon beef BBQ on the Yongpyong drive home: Jowatso
In short
Jowatso (조왔소) is a charcoal-grilled beef restaurant in Janghowon-eup, Icheon, Gyeonggi. After checking out of Yongpyong Resort at 11am, the writer reached Jowatso around 1pm and ordered the 850g signature platter for 89,000 won, with free beef soup and mulnaengmyeon (cold noodle soup), while the wide seating let a sleeping child stay in the stroller right beside the table. From Yongpyong Resort to Jowatso in Janghowon: how was the lunch timing?
We checked out of Yongpyong Resort around 11am and drove down, arriving at Jowatso in Janghowon at about 1pm, just right. It's a genuinely delicious Janghowon BBQ place we stopped at on the way back from our Gangwon trip.

Is Jowatso roomy enough to keep a stroller beside you?
The tables at Jowatso are spaced wide apart, so a stroller was easy to manage. Our little one, Chukbok, fell asleep in the car, so we brought him in still in the stroller, and the restaurant was spacious and comfortable enough that we could park it right next to our seats.

What services does Jowatso offer?
There were a ridiculous number of cordless fans ready for when you get hot over the grill. And as you leave, they hand you ground beef too, haha. I guess I'll be making beef seaweed soup with it today♡♡♡♡ You'll be moved by the taste and won over by the service.

Basic banchan and the self-serve bar
Jowatso's basic banchan (side dishes) come out generously like this, and you can grab whatever else you want at the self-serve bar.

Rice for beef sushi: extra is ₩1,000
At Jowatso, rice comes out separately so you can make sushi with your beef. We loved it, and of course you can get more. Just pay ₩1,000 and you can add extra.

Seaweed for young guests
When kids come in, Jowatso in Janghowon seems to bring out seaweed just for them, like this. Chukbok was groggy and out of it after waking up, but he still ate the seaweed happily. Thank you so much.
The real kicker: free beef soup
Jowatso in Janghowon!!!! The real kicker was this soup. The spicy beef haejangguk (hangover-style soup) is free, and refills are free too. The owner is incredibly generous.
Then the really good charcoal comes in. haha I was already happy and satisfied before we'd even started eating.

Jowatso's ₩89,000 850g signature platter: which cuts come with it?
We ordered the Jowatso signature platter, and 850g is only ₩89,000. I checked again, wondering if I'd misread the price or the grams, but that's really what it is. There's also a limited daily one-tray platter, and its price is great too.

You get this much food for ₩89,000. It isn't just one kind of meat either: there's uidae galbi (bone-in rib), bonkkotsal (chuck flap), galbi (short rib), buchaesal (top blade) and marinated beef, a real variety. Order this one platter and you get to eat every cut you'd want.

Maybe it's the good charcoal, but the meat cooked well, the marinade was tasty, the salt was tasty, everything was just delicious, and I was in a great mood. haha
We piled beef on rice to make beef sushi and also had garlic lettuce wraps.

They gave us king oyster mushrooms as a garnish, so we grilled those too, and I ordered my favorite zero cola.

How was the mulnaengmyeon (cold noodle soup) at Jowatso?
Jowatso's mulnaengmyeon was the best I've had lately. Honestly I was full, but felt we should still have a proper meal, so I ordered the refreshing cold noodles. It's not just the beef; the side dishes were tasty too. Next time I'd like to try the bibim naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles) or the doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew).

Is Jowatso in Janghowon worth a return visit?
I was so full that I couldn't order more, and honestly that's my only regret. The value is really great, and the beef quality is so, so, so, so good. It's really delicious.

We're definitely coming back~!!!!!
