Simkung Piercing Jamsil is a piercing shop I stopped by on my way home after going to Lotte Department Store at Jamsil Station 💗

I'd walked past it in the Jamsil underground mall so many times, and it has so many piercings on display that I wanted to have a look every single time haha. I finally had time that day, so I went in, and there's way more variety than I expected!!

I've had piercings for a long time and usually pick similar designs, but this time a staff member's recommendation got me to try a style I don't normally wear. Bottom line: if you're looking for a piercing shop in Jamsil, I recommend going to browse in person ❣️

Compared with buying from photos online, being able to hold pieces up to your ear and get recommendations made choosing a totally different kind of fun.

Simkung Piercing Jamsil opening hours and how to get there

Simkung Piercing Jamsil is open daily 11:00–21:00 and closed on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month. Reservations, takeout and Wi-Fi are all available, and the address is 265 Ollimpik-ro, Songpa-gu, Seoul, Jamsil underground shopping center F-18, 19.

It's about 115m from Jamsil Station Exit 5. It's inside the Line 2 Jamsil underground shopping center, in the Juniann alley opposite Paris Baguette. It's a handy stop if you're at Lotte Department Store or Jamsil Station anyway, like me!!

Piercing prices at Simkung Piercing Jamsil start at ₩3,000 for the earlobe and run ₩7,000–₩12,000 depending on the spot. When you're looking for a place to get your ears pierced, price matters as much as design, and the prices were great too.

Piercing variety at Simkung Piercing Jamsil: how many are there?

Simkung Piercing Jamsil has a huge range, displayed by style, from simple rings to chain and drop designs. My very first thought walking in: wow, there's so much here haha

It's one of the piercing shops with the most variety I've been to. Simple rings, tiny accent piercings, statement pieces like chains and drops, all lined up by style, so just browsing took forever…

My taste is pretty set, so I've been buying similar things for years haha. If I'd chosen alone, I'd most likely have bought my usual style again that day… but the staff member looked at my ear and recommended designs that might suit me, which I loved.

This is why I think piercings are better bought at an offline shop than online. You can see the real size and check right away how it looks on your ear, so you're less likely to regret it than when choosing from photos.

The pierced pink doll and the blue Hello Kitty piercing

Oh, and the pink doll on one side haha. She's got piercings everywhere from ears to nose, lips and belly button, and she was so cute I took a photo 💗

Honestly, what caught my eye first was Hello Kitty… I'm a huge Sanrio Hello Kitty fan, so my eyes went straight to one thing haha. A blue Hello Kitty piercing!!! At first I really meant to buy it. Hello Kitty AND blue, I couldn't not look T_T

But as I kept choosing, I realized the Hello Kitty is cute but I probably wouldn't wear it daily. Cuteness or practicality… I agonized for ages haha. In the end I went with the bead piercing the staff member recommended!! Hello Kitty, I'll bring you home next time…⭐️

My first bead piercing, picked by staff: how was it?

The bead piercing I chose at Simkung Piercing Jamsil is a design of small blue-tinted beads strung together, not over the top but with a clearer accent than a basic ring. I always buy the same style, so this was my first bead piercing.

But once I put it on, it was way prettier than I expected!!! The small beads don't stand out too much, yet it definitely has more of an accent than one plain ring. Maybe because it's summer, the blue beads on my ear look cool and refreshing, which made me like it even more 💙

It's a design I'd never have picked up myself, but trying it on a recommendation made me discover a new taste haha. It doesn't look too much next to my upper piercing and it's easy to wear daily, so I think choosing this over Hello Kitty was the right call!!

Simkung Piercing Jamsil is a shop I'd wondered about every time I passed through Jamsil Station. Going in, I found a really wide variety of piercings and prices that weren't a burden, so it was a nice place to browse.

Best of all, I liked that the staff member helped recommend designs!! If you're like me, with firm taste and always buying the same piercing, getting a recommendation in person once in a while seems like a good idea haha. This time I even found a bead piercing that suits summer, so I'm happy ❣️
