What kind of restaurant is Omil Seongsu?

Omil Seongsu is a Western-style restaurant in Seongsu-dong famous for its omurice (omelet rice). If you're looking for a good place to bring a kid on a Seongsu outing, or you're just craving omurice, give Omil Seongsu a try. It has even been featured on TV, so it's a bona fide TV-famous spot in Seongsu-dong.

Omil Seongsu is a popular Seongsu-dong restaurant with couples on dates, and the omurice is the star. At lunchtime there's always a wait, so I used to do the opening run, but this time I came for dinner and the alley was so quiet ^^

Where is Omil Seongsu, and where can you park?

Omil Seongsu is at 37-1 Achasan-ro 5-gil, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, and there's a public parking lot nearby. It's a Seongsu-dong spot I've bookmarked, and if you're looking for somewhere to eat with a kid in Seongsu-dong, have the omurice at Omil. Come for dinner and there's no wait, and using the public parking lot is a lot easier too :D Parking is always the problem in Seongsu-dong, so for those of you driving, it's a great spot to park at the public lot and walk over.

Omil Seongsu wait times: lunch vs dinner

If you come at lunchtime, you'll end up waiting even if you do the opening run~ So I always put my name down and waited right here ^^

It's a famous Seongsu restaurant, so I always waited at lunch.. but dinner was relaxed ^^ If the line is long, take photos at the photo spot in front of Omil Seongsu. If you've seen Omil on social media, this place may look very familiar.

I've also recommended it to people looking for a Seongsu restaurant with a nice atmosphere. Omil Seongsu is well known as a pasta and omurice place in Seongsu, so it's good to know.

At Omil Seongsu, you sit wherever you like and then use the self-service bar on the left ^^ The dining hall is very clean and pleasant, with a lovely atmosphere too.

What to order on your first visit to Omil Seongsu

If it's your first time at Omil Seongsu, I recommend the set menu! With a set you get 2 main dishes, 1 side dish, and one drink each.

The Halloween rubber duck omurice is a new menu item Omil Seongsu is rolling out for the Halloween season. I wanted to get into the mood, so I ordered this.

The rubber duck decoration puts you in a good mood before you even eat, so you start the meal laughing. That makes Omil Seongsu perfect to visit with a kid.

Omil Seongsu is also called an Instagram-worthy spot by people who post their day out in Seongsu-dong on social media~ so there are plenty of good photo spots inside and outside the restaurant ^^ Even if you've never been to Omil Seongsu, many of you have probably seen it on social media or blogs several times. And on TV too.

With the Halloween rubber duck omurice, you open the Halloween pumpkin and ta-da, a rubber duck pops out inside. If you go with a kid, definitely order this as a little gift ^^ They'll love it.

Side dish: soba maki

For the side dish I chose soba maki (buckwheat rice roll). If you go to Omil Seongsu with a friend who's watching calories, this is the one ^^

If you enjoy dates in Seongsu-dong, I recommend ordering the set menu and adding soba maki as your side.

The soba maki is well seasoned and tasty, so even people on a diet can enjoy a low-calorie meal at Omil Seongsu without having to bring their own food for a day.

It works well to order the omurice or pasta your kid loves, then pick the soba maki for yourself if you're dieting!

Is the omurice at Omil Seongsu worth a return visit?

The omurice at Omil Seongsu is truly the best~ When I'm craving omurice, it's the first Seongsu restaurant that comes to mind.
