I was wondering what to have for dinner, and suddenly I was desperately craving those juicy burgers I had on trips abroad. Then I found out there's a famous handmade burger place over in Jamsil! "Canadian-style handmade burgers" got my expectations up to 200%, so I headed to Maple Burger DT (메이플버거 DT) haha
What is Maple Burger DT? A drive-thru burger shop inside a gas station
Maple Burger DT is a drive-thru handmade burger shop on the first floor of the Hyundai Jamsil self-service gas station on Songpa-daero. A burger place inside a gas station... but when I got there, it was totally the vibe of those American drive-in movies!
The signage is clean, and just one Canadian flag touch makes the atmosphere feel way more exotic than I expected. There's also an indoor space, so you can sit and rest while waiting for your order.
The staff were super friendly and explained the menu well when I ordered :) The menu is also hung big at the top outside the shop, so even if you come through the drive-thru you can check it right away!

That day I ordered two burgers and one order of fries at Maple Burger DT. Here's everything I got :)

For the fries, not just plain fries, but the ones topped with meat chili sauce! With all three ordered, the table looked pretty loaded, and I felt weirdly proud haha

Beef & Shrimp Burger: a beef patty and a whole shrimp patty in one
The Beef & Shrimp Burger (₩13,000) at Maple Burger DT combines both a beef patty and a whole shrimp patty. The moment I took a bite: so juicy!!!! This is it!!
It's not a patty of mashed-up shrimp; they apparently make it from whole shrimp, and you can really taste it. It isn't greasy or heavy, and it's the addictive kind where you take one bite and keep going back for more (sob)
The bread is really good too. It's a maple bun made with Canadian maple syrup, and the bun itself is sweet and nutty, so it pairs perfectly with the fillings!
Maple Whole Shrimp Burger: if you love shrimp, this one is enough
I ordered the Maple Whole Shrimp Burger (₩9,000) because it's said to be Maple Burger DT's signature... and the moment I took a bite, I thought, huh? I like shrimp! Totally delicious, and I have to admit it deserves to be the signature!! You chew right into plump shrimp meat, so if you like shrimp, I think this one alone will fully satisfy you haha
The whole time I was eating, I kept thinking happily, "tonight's dinner was a success" haha
Chili Meat Fries: if you're tired of ordinary fries
The Chili Meat Fries (₩7,900) at Maple Burger DT are fries topped with meat chili sauce. I'm tired of ordinary fries by now, but I can't resist chili sauce haha. It's exactly my taste, the kind of flavor anyone would like :)
The potatoes are also plump and crispy, unlike regular fast-food fries, so they're good even without sauce. Dipping them in the burger makes them even better... I knew that, and still my hand kept reaching for more (sob)

The best thing about Maple Burger DT is that you can easily pick up handmade burgers of the quality I had abroad through a drive-thru. Honestly, I don't eat burgers that often and didn't have huge expectations. But when I actually ate it, it tasted like a real handmade burger of that overseas quality. The bun, patty and sauce were all good with nothing lacking, and since it's a drive-thru, pickup is easy, so the best part is that I can come back without any hassle whenever I crave it again.
