The weather has been so nice lately that my partner and I wandered around Seongsu looking for places to visit, and ended up having lunch somewhere with a great atmosphere. Search for a Seongsu pasta restaurant these days and endless options pop up. Brivite Seongsu stands out because it isn't predictable Western food, but fusion dishes with a chef's own kick. I wanted a proper Seongsu pasta meal, so after some careful searching, here's my visit to Brivite Seongsu >_<

Where is Brivite Seongsu?
Brivite Seongsu is in an alley on Sangwon-gil, about a 5-minute walk from Exit 4 of Ttukseom Station. It's much easier to reach from Ttukseom Station than from Seongsu Station. The alley is slightly off the busy main street, so it has a relaxed local-favorite feel, and I was in a good mood from the walk there.

What are the atmosphere and reservations like at Brivite Seongsu?
Brivite Seongsu is a date-friendly Western restaurant with a pink exterior and a wood-toned interior, and there's Catch Table reservation set up at the front. The outside is so pink, and personally I loved the entrance right away... haha. There seems to be a regular wait, since a Catch Table reservation sign was out front!
Warm wood walls, checkered tiles and pink patterned bench sofas as the accent create the perfect mood for a Seongsu date. The seats are spaced generously, so it was easy to talk, and the whole place felt well kept and clean.
I was surprised that even at weekday lunch, so many seats were already reserved!! As expected... Seongsu hot spot!

The menu, the call bell and even the wet wipes were all Brivite-branded items!

Does Brivite Seongsu have a review event?
Brivite Seongsu was running an event: show a Naver receipt or Google Maps review and get one free grapefruit or lemon ade. You pay first, get your receipt and can join right away, so do grab the perk. I sat down and looked through the menu, and while the mains are great, Brivite's side lineup is solid too.

What did we order from the two-person set at Brivite Seongsu?
After some deliberation, we went with Brivite Seongsu's signature two-person set: scallion cream corn gnocchi, spicy vongole oil pasta, a side of spicy fried eggplant, plus 2 drinks.

Drinks were a Pepsi Zero and an orange juice^^

The food came out almost one dish after another, quickly!!

Even before tasting, it looked so pretty and delicious!! Snapped a full shot!
What does the scallion cream corn gnocchi taste like?
Brivite Seongsu's scallion cream corn gnocchi is on another level from ordinary cream gnocchi. The sweetness of fire-grilled corn, salty bacon chips and a scallion cream sauce with a gentle scallion aroma work together crazily well.

The gnocchi texture is art. It's 100% handmade, not store-bought, so the outside is grilled crisp while the inside melts away like mashed potato.

The sauce isn't too thick or sticky but smooth, so I never got tired of it and scraped the plate clean. This scallion cream corn gnocchi alone earns the place a top-tier spot among Seongsu pasta restaurants.

Does the spicy vongole oil pasta have a lot of clams?
Brivite Seongsu's spicy vongole oil pasta first surprised me with a mountain of clams piled on top. A deep savory base from fresh manila and littleneck clams is topped generously with thinly sliced radish and green arugula for freshness.

Oil pasta can get greasy, but the heat of peperoncino acts as a real kick and wakes up the appetite. The noodles were perfectly al dente, springy with every bite. It's a truly solid oil pasta place with strong fundamentals.

The clams are so big, with great texture, and filling...!

Is the side of spicy fried eggplant worth adding?
Brivite Seongsu's side of spicy fried eggplant was the hidden cheat-code dish that surprised me most. The batter is very thin, a textbook crispy-outside, juicy-inside, and it locks in the eggplant's sweet juices. It comes with a spicy, creamy chipotle sauce, and it paired with the mains in great balance. Do add it as a side!

The spicy, creamy chipotle sauce made it just right to eat together with the main dishes.

Do we recommend Brivite Seongsu as a date course?
Brivite Seongsu nails all three: atmosphere, taste and friendliness, so my partner and I were both very happy with the meal. I understood on my tongue why it's called a Ttukseom Station hot spot and a pilgrimage site for Seongsu pasta.
If you're looking for a gathering with friends or a cozy Seongsu date course with a partner, I strongly recommend Brivite Seongsu. I'm definitely going back next time to try the dishes I missed! It was a great Seongsu pasta experience with real depth in the cooking and a treat for the eyes too.
