I've been so stressed lately that I lost a ton of weight and had no appetite. Then my mom said she'd watch the baby so my husband and I could go on a date, a little free-couple time! I wondered how to spend this honey of a time, and we decided to eat something that's hard to eat with a baby, haha. So we went for gopchang (grilled beef small intestine) :)
My husband and I love gopchang, but I don't think we'd had it even once since I gave birth. So let me introduce the Omokgyo gopchang spot we finally enjoyed after so long: Omokgyo Gopchang Mokdong Main Branch!

Where do you park for Omokgyo Gopchang?
We used the Mokdong public parking lot to get to Omokgyo Gopchang Mokdong Main Branch. It's cheap at ₩1,800 per hour, and the lot is big! It took about 5–7 minutes on foot from the lot to the restaurant.
The restaurant is in the eating alley between Mokdong Hyundai Department Store and E-Mart! There are lots of meat restaurants and beer places around here too, so it's perfect for a second round after the gopchang :)

Like any popular place, waiting chairs greet you, haha.

There's a photo booth, and I thought, I'll take a shot on the way out! But... I totally forgot. T_T Sob.

Inside Omokgyo Gopchang: fine for company dinners or with a baby?
The inside of Omokgyo Gopchang Mokdong Main Branch is quite big, so I thought it'd be perfect for a company dinner. There are high chairs too, so it seems fine to come with a baby!
There are plenty of great restaurants in Mokdong, and I used to come here a lot as a university student, so coming back after so long felt new.

I read the how-to-eat-it guide carefully, haha.

Omokgyo Gopchang menu and prices: what did we order?
We ordered 2 servings of the traditional handmade garlic gopchang (₩28,900), Omokgyo Gopchang's signature grill! I was torn with the mixed grill, but the garlic gopchang is limited to 20 a day, so I wanted to try it, haha.
I found out later that you can mix 1 serving + 1 serving of different items! I thought we had to stick to a single menu... embarrassing, haha.

I scanned the sides too, and there was everything from raw beef marrow (only edible when fresh) to a variety of meals, haha.

Free tofu stew and side dishes
Omokgyo Gopchang gives you a free soft tofu stew (sundubu-jjigae) as a basic side, and it was so spicy and... so delicious?! It was kind of like jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup), with a deep meaty flavor that was totally my taste, haha.

The water comes in a bottle, with a vitamin attached too. So thoughtful!!!

The side dishes are set~~ When liver and tripe come out, the freshness game is over, you've already won. They say they get gopchang slaughtered that same day from the cattle market, so it's especially fresh and high quality.
Between ordering and the gopchang arriving, we kept the stew bubbling and ate it~

How is the traditional handmade garlic gopchang grilled?
Our traditional handmade garlic gopchang finally arrived! Can you see the size of the gopchang?? So plump, haha.

The owner put on a fire show right away, haha. It's to get rid of any gamey smell, but it was kind of fun, haha. Careful, careful~~

They also grilled Omokgyo Gopchang's signature green onion kimchi right alongside.

The gopchang comes pre-grilled, so you just need to brown it a bit more, which is really convenient, haha. They said they stuff the garlic into each piece of gopchang by hand, and you can feel the care.

I started with the free heart dipped in sauce, and there was no gamey smell at all. Really good.

I wrapped the gopchang in the grilled vegetables and nom nom :)

A meal after the gopchang: bibim noodles and fried rice
Bibim noodles, ₩7,000
The bibim noodles (spicy mixed noodles) at Omokgyo Gopchang are ₩7,000. You can tell just by looking, right? So good, haha. Spicy, sweet and tangy, perfect as a finisher after gopchang!

Fried rice, ₩6,900
The fried rice at Omokgyo Gopchang is ₩6,900. After trying the bibim noodles I couldn't resist, so I ordered the fried rice too. Flying fish roe and cheese on top... bliss...

Once the egg cooks, you just mix it all up. The taste is so addictive that even though we were both full, my husband and I scraped the pan clean!
