Sangwangsimni salon straight magic on waist-length hair: Urban Ground

~ Getting ready for autumn, a makeover (of sorts) ~ I've always stuck to long hair and just kept growing it without thinking, and now it's down to my waist!! It looked kind of messy, and with the autumn weather my hair was dry and frizzy too... I had to do something, so I searched for salons, found one with good reviews and an Instagram feed that was exactly my taste, and booked right away, haha. Here's my visit review of Urban Ground Hair Sangwangsimni Station Branch, where I got proper straight magic and a clinic (hair treatment).

Where is Urban Ground Hair Sangwangsimni Station Branch, and where can you park?

Urban Ground Hair Sangwangsimni Station Branch is on the 2nd floor of the VIP Building, just a 1-minute walk once you come out of Exit 4 of Sangwangsimni Station. Parking is available too, so it's easy whether you come by public transport or by car.

Just go past the Paris Baguette and head up to the 2nd floor of the building right there.

For parking, use the spot in front of the shop on the building's 1st floor on Sundays and public holidays, and the building's underground parking lot on Saturdays and weekdays. Hours are Tue–Sat 10:00–20:00 and Sunday 10:00–19:00, and the shop is closed every Monday.

I booked ahead, and my name was written on my storage locker, whoa. Such a detailed, thoughtful touch.. it put me in a great mood!

How was the consultation at Urban Ground Hair?

My designer started the consultation the moment I sat down. She spoke softly, and she was so sweet and kind.. the absolute best.

She asked carefully what style I wanted, and looked at the condition of my hair and thought through what would be best from my point of view, together with me.

Iced Americano ordered before we started.. and above all, she didn't scold me, which I loved T_T She kindly recommended things while keeping the style I wanted as much as possible, and I really appreciated that.

Is the shampoo refreshing?

Also, getting your hair washed matters more than you'd think, right?

I like a really firm, scrubby wash, and with her gentle way of speaking I wasn't sure.. but her touch was not gentle at all, in the best way.

She washed it so refreshingly, and I was really satisfied with that too.

How much is straight magic with a clinic set for waist-length hair?

What I got at Urban Ground Hair Sangwangsimni Station Branch this time was the Magic + Premium SET at ₩189,000, plus ₩60,000 for added length, ₩249,000 in total. The SET includes a Milbon clinic, a scalp pack and a design cut.

My hair is very thick and long, so it had gotten out of hand.. On top of that, with the change of seasons it was even drier and hard to comb through, so I added the clinic too!

How does the Milbon clinic treatment work?

She cut first and then did the clinic. The Milbon clinic was done thoroughly: 2 rounds sitting up and 2 rounds lying down. (Second round in progress..) The clinic alone took almost an hour, I think!

Of course it's not permanent, but I think I'll be able to comb my hair happily for a while, so I'm very satisfied. Sparkle sparkle..

Straight magic results, a year after a failed straightening

After the clinic, she straightened my hair. (Dozing off) The thing is, I'd had magic done somewhere else and it went a bit wrong, so this was my first time again in about a year. My designer nailed exactly the straight, flat look I wanted, and I was sooo satisfied.

The magic, clinic and cut together took about 2 hours 20 minutes in total!

Considering my hair's length and thickness, it finished much faster than I expected, which I loved too. Such fast hands.. Oh, and in the middle she gave me a sweet potato.. I guess she heated it in an air fryer, it was so good T_T

When I looked in the mirror after finishing, I felt so relieved seeing everything neat and tidy T_T Before:

My hair is thick and long so it always felt heavy, but after this trim it felt so much lighter, and I was really happy, haha.

Best of all, my designer handled everything from start to finish by herself (even the shampoo..!), which made it even better, haha. If you get nervous at salons or find it hard to talk through what you want, I think you'd like this relaxed atmosphere!

Out of all the salons out there, if you're looking for a place with no inflated prices, where you don't get scolded while getting your hair done (important..) and can just relax,
