Work has been so stressful lately that my shoulders and back have turned into solid rock... haha. I honestly wish someone would rip my shoulders off and swap in new ones, lol. So this time I wanted to really loosen up, searched for a massage shop near Gongneung, and ended up at The Hanoi Foot & Body Junggye Eunhaeng Sageori (더하노이풋앤바디 중계은행사거리점).

I got the Relief Basic 60-minute course! I've had quite a lot of aesthetic treatments and massages, and to give you the conclusion first: The Hanoi Foot & Body is up there among my most satisfying. Drawing on years of experience, I'll cover everything from price and discounts to detailed treatment notes!

Where is The Hanoi Foot & Body Junggye Eunhaeng Sageori?

The Hanoi Foot & Body Junggye Eunhaeng Sageori is on the 3rd floor of Cheonggu Sangga, the shopping arcade in front of the Junggye Cheonggu 3rd apartment complex.

Are the shop and treatment rooms clean?

The Hanoi Foot & Body Junggye Eunhaeng Sageori is spacious and spotless, with floors that gleam. My first thought walking in was, "Wow, this is way bigger than I expected!" From the hallway to the foot bath area everything is tidy, and the shiny floors made a clean first impression.

When I go to a massage shop or aesthetic salon, I pay special attention to how clean the treatment room is. The private rooms here were neat with no clutter, and the bedding and surroundings were clean too, which I liked.

If you come for a massage and worry about hygiene, it's hard to really relax, right? On that front, it passes with flying colors haha!

How does the 60-minute Relief Basic course work?

The Relief Basic Care program is a 60-minute treatment made up of back care, warm stones and a foot pack.

First, you change into top and bottom garments in your private room, then come out for the foot bath.

You soak your feet for about 5 minutes while sipping warm tea~ and meanwhile the therapist comes out and washes your feet.

Then you go to the treatment room and it begins! The face-down bed has a face cover, so it's super clean.. I'm someone who hates resting my chin and forehead on the mat even in yoga, so I was very happy 👍

A massage that feels refreshing without hurting

The back care at The Hanoi Foot & Body used the forearms and palms to work broad areas rather than pressing hard with the fingers. Before starting, the therapist asked which areas usually bother me, so I mentioned my shoulders and back, which have been especially knotted lately.

What amazed me is that it didn't really hurt, yet it felt so good. When a massage hurts too much, my body tenses up and I can't truly rest, but here I could lie back comfortably and still feel the stiff spots release.

Pelvis massage: the surprise highlight

The back care in Relief Basic goes through the shoulders, back and waist, and continues to the lower body connected to the hips. The surprise highlight was the hip and pelvis work! My lower body swells a lot, and I came away amazed by the pelvis care I hadn't even expected.

Scalp massage I wished lasted longer

The 60-minute course includes a short scalp massage too, and it felt amazing. It ended just when I was really getting into it...ㅠㅠ When I asked, they said you can book the 80-minute course and request a slightly longer scalp massage. So next time I'm going for 80 minutes haha

Friendly, low-pressure service from the therapist

With aesthetic treatments, skill matters, but I think the therapist's manner has a huge effect on satisfaction. My therapist was very kind and kept checking in during the treatment to see if anything was uncomfortable. She didn't talk constantly either, just enough to not be overwhelming, so I felt like I rested with a totally blank mind for a whole hour.

How much is the Relief Basic course, and what is the first-visit discount?

At The Hanoi Foot & Body Junggye Eunhaeng Sageori, Basic Relief 60 minutes is ₩90,000 at regular price, and ₩63,000 with the 30% first-visit discount. Since you're going anyway, I'd recommend the 80–90 minute courses while the 30% discount applies. I was a little disappointed because the time flew by..

I feel like some of the stress that built up at work has melted away. I guess this is why we earn money.. 💸 Stress from earning money, relieved by spending money haha;;

Verdict: who is The Hanoi Foot & Body best for?

I've had quite a lot of massages and aesthetic treatments, and personally The Hanoi Foot & Body Junggye Eunhaeng Sageori, a massage shop near Gongneung, ranks high for satisfaction.

  • Cool, effective treatment that doesn't hurt
  • Especially satisfying pelvis and scalp massage
  • Kind therapist who isn't overbearing
  • Spacious, clean shop and treatment rooms

It should suit you especially if, like me, you prefer a comfortable, refreshing treatment to a hard-pressing massage that hurts. Next time I'll try the 80-minute course and get a slightly longer scalp massage :)
