Whenever I'm craving Korean food, I end up at Ojjingeo Dangjin (오찡어 당진점), the Dangjin local favorite that I like and trust most among the Korean restaurants in Daedeok-dong. The squid stir-fry full of smoky fire flavor and the crispy squid pancake were so satisfying that I've brought family and friends several times. I go once every month or two without fail, so please put it on your must-visit list!
Where to park at Ojjingeo Dangjin

There is a parking lot behind the building, but it's small, so I'd recommend a nearby public parking lot or roadside parking. There's plenty of parking space around Cheongnyong-gil in Daedeok-dong, so I've never had trouble parking, which is great.
Booking a private room at Ojjingeo Dangjin for family gatherings
The inside of Ojjingeo Dangjin is split into rooms and a main hall. The rooms look perfect for family meals, group dinners or anyone who wants a private meal. When I bring my family, I always reserve a room ahead of time, so we can eat in comfort.
When the restaurant first opened, there weren't many customers, but word of mouth spread and it's now a popular spot in Daedeok-dong. The taste hasn't changed from those early days until now, which is why I trust it as a real Dangjin local favorite!

Ojjingeo Dangjin menu and lunch special
As a squid specialty restaurant, Ojjingeo Dangjin serves squid in many forms: squid hot pot, squid stir-fry, squid pancake, boiled squid slices and squid tangsuyuk (sweet and sour fried squid). Until 2 p.m., on weekdays and weekends, a discounted lunch special applies. Set menus cost less than ordering dishes separately, so I recommend a set if you want to try a bit of everything!

You order on the tablet at each table, but if tablets aren't your thing, you can just call a staff member over. The owner and all the staff are always friendly, so every visit leaves me in a good mood.

My regular order: squid stir-fry and squid pancake set
We ordered our usual, the squid stir-fry + squid pancake set. You can choose mild, medium or hot, but be aware that even mild is about as spicy as Shin Ramyun. For the squid pancake, you can pick vegetable or minari (water dropwort) to suit your taste, which I like.

The spicy squid hot pot is delicious too, so every visit I agonize between the hot pot and the stir-fry. Each has its own charm, so I pick whichever I'm drawn to that day.

The side dishes are all handmade with real care. If you run out, there's a self-serve bar, which is convenient.

How spicy is the mild squid stir-fry for 2?
Here came the mild squid stir-fry for 2. I usually add noodles (sari) too, but I wasn't that hungry this day, so I skipped them. The chewy, smoky noodles are a treat, though, so I recommend adding them!
Stir-fried with crunchy, fresh vegetables, Ojjingeo Dangjin's squid stir-fry had a smoky aroma that hit my nose the moment it arrived, and my mouth watered on its own.

It looks red, but the mild level is about as spicy as Shin Ramyun, so you get a nicely tasty kick. The portion is so generous you won't believe it's for 2! Every seasoning is made into a homemade sauce, so you get a stir-fry with a charm only Ojjingeo Dangjin has. It's addictive, and one taste makes you want to come back.

The stir-fry also comes fully cooked from the kitchen, so you can just enjoy your meal, which makes it even more comfortable. I think there's a reason it's popular for group dinners in Dangjin.
Naver review event: free squid tangsuyuk
The squid tangsuyuk you get free for joining the Naver review event at Ojjingeo Dangjin was so good you can hardly believe it's a freebie. The portion is just right for two people, so I never miss the review event and always get the tangsuyuk on every visit.

Pizza-sized minari squid pancake: take leftovers home
The minari squid pancake at Ojjingeo Dangjin is packed with squid and minari. Its sheer size, like a whole pizza, startles me every time. Because there's so much, I always take the leftovers home and reheat them in the air fryer, and they taste like a fresh pancake.

Fried to look like snowflakes, the squid pancake is the ultimate crispy-outside, juicy-inside dish: crunchy, moist and mild, with squid and minari textures blending so well that it gets more addictive with every bite. That's why I never skip ordering it whenever I visit Ojjingeo Dangjin.

The thick squid pancake doesn't hold oil; it's drained and light, so you can enjoy it without feeling greasy. Thick pancakes usually soak up oil inside, but Ojjingeo's is clean and mild!

It's perfect as a drinking snack too, and sometimes I suddenly want a glass of soju. Looking around at other tables, people were having drinks with their food. Ojjingeo Dangjin is a charming Dangjin local spot that makes you think of both rice and drinks at once.

Why Ojjingeo Dangjin is a safe choice for dining with parents
The squid stir-fry sauce at Ojjingeo Dangjin is so good that my husband and I always mix rice into it. When I brought my family, everyone raved about it, and we even came back again. I've tried plenty of well-known local restaurants in Dangjin, and sadly the taste sometimes changes, but Ojjingeo Dangjin always keeps the same taste and service, so I feel at ease bringing parents and friends.

We joked that it should be added to Korea's list of "rice thieves" (dishes so good you eat endless rice), and Ojjingeo Dangjin is a must-visit for anyone looking for a truly great place in Dangjin. I recommend it to everyone around me until my mouth goes dry, and everyone who went was very satisfied! I've never seen a tastier Korean restaurant in Daedeok-dong. Ojjingeo Dangjin, a Dangjin Korean restaurant, is one I really recommend visiting!
