Pebble-interior date café in Namak, Muan on a Haenam trip: GRAY LAZY
In short
GRAY LAZY is a cozy café and dessert café on the 2nd floor of a building in central Namak, Samhyang-eup, Muan, Jeonnam. A couple on their way back from a Haenam trip stopped at GRAY LAZY by chance, ordered an iced Americano, autumn candied chestnut cake and churros, and were struck by the dim lighting and gallery-like interior of pebbles and stones. GRAY LAZY is a calm Namak date café worth lingering in, and the couple plan to return.

My husband and I love hunting for good restaurants and cafés on weekends. On the way back from our Haenam trip, we went looking for a café with a nice atmosphere in Namak and stumbled on this place by chance: GRAY LAZY, a café in Namak.

The atmosphere was lovely and the drinks and desserts were great too, so I really wanted to share it. If you're looking for a café in Namak, this might help.
Where is GRAY LAZY and what are its hours?
GRAY LAZY is on the 2nd floor of the Seogwang Building at 27 Daejukseo-ro 16beon-gil, Samhyang-eup, Muan-gun, Jeonnam. It's open daily from 11:00 to 24:00 (last order 23:00). Dogs are welcome, and you can reserve a room through Naver.

Where do you park at GRAY LAZY in Namak?
GRAY LAZY is on the 2nd floor of the building with the charcoal grill and chicken feet place, next to Sulbing at Namak Central Park! Three public parking lots sit right beside it, and roadside parking was possible too!

It's in the heart of Namak, so it's easy to reach and parking was comfortable. It's on the 2nd floor, and the mood starts right at the entrance, which got me excited. A menu is placed at the entrance, so we looked it over first and then picked a seat.

A Namak mood café that won me over: the pebble interior
The dimmed lighting and stylish interior were really impressive. It's the trendy mood-café style, but not over the top. It's calm, so it's easy to stay a long while.
The interior using pebbles and stones in the central space was especially unique. It felt like walking into a gallery, a very different vibe from an ordinary café.

There are window seats too, so visiting in the daytime would bring in natural light for a different feel. A space like this isn't common among Namak cafés, which made it even more memorable.
A dog-friendly Muan café, and you can book a room
Another plus of GRAY LAZY is that dogs are allowed. When we visited, we saw guests with adorable dogs. It's really nice to enjoy a café with your pet. I also heard there's a separate room inside.

It can be used with a reservation, so it seemed good for family gatherings, meetups with friends or small get-togethers. It's also a nice space for anyone who wants a quiet conversation.
A dessert showcase that delights the eyes
There was a really wide variety of desserts. Looking through the showcase, everything looked so good that it was hard to choose. True to a trendy mood café, the visuals were great and the menu was varied.

The props placed here and there were so pretty and great for photos. The corner where coffee and alcohol are displayed together was stylish too, and fun to browse. If you want a Namak café with both atmosphere and photo spots, I think you'll be happy here.

What we ordered at GRAY LAZY
That day we ordered these three things at GRAY LAZY.
- Iced Americano
- Autumn candied chestnut cake
- Churros

What does the autumn candied chestnut cake taste like?
The most memorable dessert of our visit was the autumn candied chestnut cake (bonnaetbam, candied chestnut). It was soft and sweet, balanced by a gentle bittersweet caramel note. It isn't just sugary, so I never got tired of it and enjoyed it to the last bite.

Personally, if you visit GRAY LAZY, I really hope you'll try this one.

The first thing I'd recommend is the churros. It passes on looks alone! Sweet yet soft, and I think anyone of any age would like them. I immediately understood why they're a popular item.

Perfectly crispy churros
The churros were better than I expected too: crispy outside, moist inside, textbook churros.

Dipped in the sauce that comes with them, they were even better. They went well with coffee too, and we finished them in no time.

A Muan café with satisfying coffee too
The iced Americano wasn't very acidic and had a clean style. It's easy for anyone to drink, so I think people with any taste would enjoy it.

How about GRAY LAZY as a Namak date café?
GRAY LAZY was great for spending relaxed time with my husband, and also good as a meeting spot with friends.

If you're looking for a café in Namak, I recommend visiting GRAY LAZY at least once. I plan to come back the next time I'm in Namak.
